Today they decide to show Derry v Tyrone, despite the fact that BBC is going to show it too. Why not show us one of the other games rather than show a game already on elsewhere 890202 (Wexford) - Posts: 1278 - 28/05/2017 14:00:27 1991420 Link 1 |

RTE will never get there act together when it comes to GAA coverage they have shown complete contempt for the national league over the years. It's a pity eir sports or TG4 don't have the rights for the championship. jacktheDub (Dublin) - Posts: 944 - 28/05/2017 15:30:48 1991448 Link 1 |

The reason the show so many ulster matches is the can use the bbc ni pictures for free and save money. It the same every year. Bbc ni can't show any games live that rte do not show as rte own the TV rights.

There must be some form of partnership - paddy bradley was interviewed by rte and then low and behold was sitting in BBC studio as a pundit - also BBC were about 30-1min ahead of rte on coverage.

So it'd be grand if the game wasn't also on BBC? GreenandRed (Mayo) - Posts: 8025 - 28/05/2017 18:01:29 1991519 Link 3 |
The highlights program tonight will consist of showing us highlights of the two matches they have already shown and very short clips of the other games. Should be the other way around. I'd much prefer to see extended highlights of the games that weren't televised 890202 (Wexford) - Posts: 1278 - 28/05/2017 18:04:36 1991521 Link 1 |
Agree and no doubt Ciaran Whelan will be all over the Mattie Donnelly incident while never discussing off the ball incidents from his native county - very predictable!!!

Yep bbc ni get free rights to show the match from rte. In return rte get the pictures from the bbc.

Tonight programme a perfect example the 2 munster games got 2 mins each including interviews and no score on the screen. No analysis on either game just a chit chat about the biggest county cork. Which is always the lazy way. While the had highlights and analysis of the poor derry match the showed live, which makes no sense. Also if a manager from a stronger county takes over a smaller county the will be said to be doing a good job no matter how poor of a actual job the are doing.

I realise there is a lot of anti sky sentiment out there but leaving the pay per view aspect aside how do ye rate the analysis on sky versus rte???? Mayonman (Galway) - Posts: 1924 - 29/05/2017 08:55:52 1991709 Link 1 |
