Roscommon GAA have become one of the first counties in the country to have their own official team Bus.

In the past, counties have had their official travelling agents, but in a new venture, Club Rossie's latest project has brought this initiative to fruitition.

The coach, which was sourced locally through Strokestown based Westward Scania is to be used by all Roscommon County teams as well as schools and clubs.

The venture was made possible after Club Rossie enticed six travel partners to sponsor the vehicle: BNP Paribas Real Estate, Ballymore Group, Dermot Hughes Toyota, Westward Scania Ireland, Seamus Carthy REA Auctioneers and O'Neill's sportswear.

Roscommon county board chairman Michael Fahey told the Roscommon Herald: "We're delighted with the new coach. It is another piece of the Roscommon jigsaw and will allow our players to travel in the highest level of comfort and it will be a source of pride for the county.

"We'd like to thank Club Rossie for delivering the project and also for their ongoing work on behalf of Roscommon GAA."

The coach which is the Roscommon colours made its first appearance at last weekend's All-Ireland under-21 football championship final defeat to Dublin.
