In away game in the Monaghan under 16 Hurling League of 2008, Lisbellaw succumbed to more livelier Clontibret side who defeated their Fermanagh visitors by a margin of 1 goal 3 points. Whilst St Patrick's put up a spirited performance throughout the game they always played second fiddle to bigger in height of the Clontibret attack. Lisbellaw goalie Odhran Russell was sound between the posts. Immediately in front of him John McElroy at right full back and Ryan Hyde at centre half back were equally sound. At mid-field Rory Porteous and Daniel Teague excelled. In attack, Ciaran Corrigan and Dwayne Phillips on the half forward line were tenacious in poaching for the slithor, in which the latter turned into scores of 2 goals. On the full forward line the Eunan McCann registered 1 goal 1 point.
