Some of Dublin’s All-Ireland winning heroes were back in action last night as the Dublin Senior 1 Football Championship got underway.
Ballyboden St Enda’s secured a 1-16 to 1-11 victory over Ballymun Kickhams at Parnell Park, while Castleknock were victorious over Skerries Harps (2-17 to 1-12) at the same venue earlier in the evening.
2019 champions Ballyboden left it late to see off Ballymun with a Cein Darcy point putting them one ahead in the 59th minute before Ryan O’Dwyer’s injury-time goal wrapped up their victory.

The other clash in the capital saw Castleknock in control from the moment Luke Swan blasted in his brilliantly taken goal in the 14th minute, giving his side a 1-6 to 0-2 advantage, as they went on to lead by five at half-time.
Skerries would reduce their deficit to three after the turnaround but Senan Forker’s goal killed off any hopes of a comeback as Castleknock hit the ground running for their championship campaign.
