Kildare moved back to the top of the Allianz Hurling League Division 2A table on Sunday with a 2-23 to 0-19 win over Derry in Owenbeg.

After David Nally’s sideline puck saw Offaly snatch a late victory against Kerry in Killarney on Saturday, the pressure was on David Herity’s men for their trip north and they thoroughly delivered, with goals from Brian Byrne and Killian Aherne helping their team to a third win in as many outings.

In Netwatch Cullen Park, Carlow had minimal fuss in recording their first win of the campaign on an emphatic 5-24 to 1-19 scoreline against Down.

Paddy Boland fired in four goals in a remarkable individual display for the hosts, with James Doyle notching their fifth, as the Mourne men were dealt their third loss.

In Division 2B, Tyrone and Wicklow each secured their second wins to keep the pressure on league leaders Meath.

The Red Hands were 2-15 to 0-11 winners over Sligo at Markievicz Park, where Lorcan Devlin and Brian McGurk netted the majors while Wicklow scored a deserved 0-23 to 0-14 victory against London in Aughrim.
