We entered the County Scór na nÓg final on Sunday in St. Malachy's Castlewellan  as South Down champions in both Ballad Group and Instrumental music, we came home with these titles and our journey in Scór na nÓg has finished for 2018.   On an evening when all the contestants  weare of the highest calibre , it' was always going to be a difficult choice for the adjudicators , unfortunately for us it wasn't our night, despite  performing  to our best in both sections  with very pleasing performances from all the participants.  Aoife Grant, Aoife Leckey, Cara Sloan,Ciara Rooney, Clodagh Morgan, Dana Leckey , Niamh McDowell, Peter Doran and Tara Grant. We're very proud of you all   Youre all a credit to the club , your parents and all have a very bright future in music . Joanne, Donna and myself thank you for all the hard work you put   during rehearsals and the competitions.  The enthusiasm, commitment and drive you all have is very evident and will stand you in good stead  whatever you put your minds to.   Our thanks to Club chairman Gary McGreevy ,Treasurer Colette Burden, Secretary Aileen Smith and other  committee members, our group of very supportive parents  grandparents and siblings , our travelling supporters and all who contacted the Club with their good wishes  for all the goodwill , commitment and support we received from  day one of our practices right through each stage of the competitions. Our thanks to Conradh na Gaeilge Boirche Iochtair for their cooperation with music rehearsals and to the Board of Governors Principal and Dan McCArtan from St.Mary's Primary School Glasdrumman for the use of the premises.  There is an old Irish proverb :  Beidh lá eile ag an bPaorach  which means  we'll have other better days in the future .  We send our best wishes to Eimear Magee from Mayobridge in the Solo Singing, Clonduff Ballad Group, Mayobridge in the Leiriú Stáitse,  Cumann Peadar Naofa in Ceili and Set dancing, Ballygalget  in Recitation and St. Paul's  in Instrumental music  for the Ulster Semi Finals  next Sunday in Swatragh.  Adh Mór  Oraibhse  Gó Léir.  AN Dún  Abú.

 

Our Club's annual bazaar will be on this Friday 8th December in the Clubrooms at 6.30 p.m.  Great prizes to be won, stalls and Santa will pay us a visit!!! Everyone welcome!

 

 Yoga now on Monday nights starting at 7.30 p.m.   Circuits are back on track this Tuesday at 7.30 p.m . Wednesdays Walking Group now off until the New Year . Club Bingo Thursday night s at 8.30 p.m .  Check Youth Group's Facebook page for upcoming activities.
