ACU16 Football League Round 1 Carryduff 2-11 V 2-5 Bryansford
Venue: Carryduff Referee: Eugene O Hare
The U16 footballers started their league campaign at home to Bryansford. Carryduff started the better getting off the mark with a Ryan Murtagh point after just one minute -this was quickly followed by a Conor Cunningham point from the left hand side.
The teams battled it out with each other until a great solo score from midfielder Simon Henry. His midfield partner Daniel Coogan claimed Carryduff's next score, a well taken point from just outside the 21.  Byransford came back into the game after this with a goal after some poor defending from Carryduff. Byransford rallied after this, scoring two more points before Carryduff replied with a superbly finished goal by centre half back Ronan Lavery. Two further points from Coogan and Murtagh left Carryduff ahead at the break 1-6 to 1-2.
Carryduff started the better after the break with another point from Murtagh. A close range free was stroked over the bar from Rory Oakes to give him his first score of the game. Byransford responded with a point of their own before fantastic work from the Carryduff team left Henry to point from in front of the posts. The teams continued to trade scores with another free from Oakes being put over.Carryduff substitute Oran O'Neill worked hard to win the ball and was given his reward with a great score from the 21. Carryduff's defence came under serious pressure in the last 5 minutes of the came as Byransford threw everything forward. Some great work from John McGeough and Dylan Stronge kept Byransford at bay until a high ball into the full forward line trickled into the Carryduff net. But Carryduff's defence held out well with just one more Byransford point. Cunningham's final score  secured the game and a hard fought victory.
The Carryduff team was ;- 1. Tommy Connery 2. Colm Latimer 3. Conor McCann 4. Conor McLornan 5. John McGeough 6. Ronan Lavery 7. Dylan Stronge 8. Daniel Coogan 9. Simon Henry 10. Conor Cunningham 11. Rory Oakes. 12. Chris Campbell 13. JB Moran 14. Ryan Murtagh 15. Eoin Rooney.

Ladies ACSFL Div 1 Carryduff v Castlewellan 18 April 2015
Played in glorious sunshine, yhis opening fixture of the Ladies All-County Senior Football league kept the supporters from both camps enthralled to the final whistle.  Carryduff led 3-05 to 2-03 at half-time  according to the referee's notebook but both sets of supporters seemed to realise that referee Eugene O' Hare had a credited a Castlewellan point as a goal and the scoreline should actually have read Carryduff 3-05 Castlewellan 1-03. However, the second half commenced on a scoreline of Carryduff 3-05Castlewellan 2-02. Points from Kate McKay and Jess Foy clawed Carryduff back into the game after Castlewellan had goaled in the third minute of play. Niamh Molloy pointed (10th) and although Castlewellan added a converted free, Susie Baxter's goal, after a sublime pass from Kate McKay, gave Carryduff an 11th minute lead  of 1-03 to 1-02.
Castlewellan levelled the game with a converted point but points from Baxter and two Carryduff goals after a superb solo run from Niamh Molloy and a high ball into the square from Susie Baxter, flicked to the net by the ever-alert Jessica Foy seemed to put Carryduff in the driving seat.
Castlewellan claimed a further point from play and Michelle Magee pointed fro Carryduff just before the break. Both teams were surprised o her that referee Eugene O'Hare had the game at 3-05 to 2-03 at the break.
The second half proved o be very entertaining fare as both teams went full tilt in pursuit of the league points. Castlewellan's early second half goal brought them within touching distance but Emer McKay's 37th minute goal for Carryduff restored their cushion and despite Castlewellan additional points and a second goal  which brought them to within  a point of Carryduff in the referee's notebook, Michelle Magee's 41st minute goal for Carryduff kept the home tem n control. But not for long - despite Foy's 53rd minute point for Carryduff, Castlewellan replies with five unanswered points to leave the referee's score 5-06 to 3-09 with 52 (a difference of 3 points) minutes of play gone.
Despite further Carryduff goals (from Susie Baxter 5th and Michelle Magee, 58th) Castlewellan  responded with two goals of their own (57th and 58th) to unsettle Carryduff and bring the game right to the wire. Niamh Molloy's final point (60th) settled affairs and gave Carryduff an 8-08 to 5-10 victory.
The Carryduff team was;-  Catherine Rooney, Amy Foy, Laura Sharvin, Ciara Rooney, Emma Magee, Eadaoin Early, Aimee Lavery, Kate McKay, Meghan Doherty, Hannah Magorrian, Emer McKay, Niamh Molloy, Susie Baxter, Michelle Magee, Jessica Foy.
Substitutes;- Fiona Smyth, Niamh Price, Caoimhe Holly, Bronagh Kerr, Donnla Fisher, Julie Coulter, Orla McKay, Emer Mc Grady.

EDRFL Carryduff IIIs v  St John's IIs
Carryduff Thirds played out a very entertaining draw against St John's seconds when the sides met in this opening encounter of the East Down reserve Football League. Carryduff turned out the clichéd blend of youth and 'experience' as a brace of father and son combinations - Mark and Daniel McCartan and Kevin and Eóin Neill - took the field for Carryduff.
Despite St John's getting off to a good start with a third minute goal quickly followd by three points from play, Carryduff battled away resolutely and drew frees from the St John's defence and Niall McArdle was on hand to convert clinically. His five points from frees and Shane donnelly's fine point from play saw the home side meet the break trailing by the minimum of margins on a 1-04 to 0-06 scoreline.
St John's opened the second half with a further point from play but Mc Ardle's 33rd minute goal suddenly put Carryduff in front and the battle began in earnest. McArdle converted his sixth point as St John's added one from play. Full-Back James McKernan covered the full length of Páirc Aodha Dhuibh to get on the end of a pass and finish to the St John's net. McArdle added a further Carryduff point but St John's had a 46th minute goal which gave then a renewed impetus - they had two further points from play to level affairs . McArdle's 51st minute point put Carryduff in front again and St John's had to battle to level the game again with a 55th minute point.
In the very last minute of the game Carryduff were in on goal as referee Eugene O'Hare brought proceedings to an end with a shrill final whistle.  All said a hard fought draw was a fair result for both teams.
The Carryduff squad was;- Kieran lavery, Eóin Neill, James McKernan, Dermot Magorrian, Conor O'Neill, Shane Donnelly, Ben Fitzsimons, Daniel McCArtan, Niall McArdle, Conor McCarroll ©, Daniel McGrath, Eamonn Rooney, James Lavery.  Substitutes;- Kevin Neill, Rory McGrath, Plunkett Kelly (for E Neill, 20), Mark McCartan (for E Rooney, 40)

In the U12  Div 1 Football League Carryduff defeated RGU Downpatrick 4-06 o 3-03 and the U12 Div 2 squad had a comfortable 10-18 to 2-02 victory way to St. John's .
Our Under 16FL A squad enjoyed a 2-11 to 2-05 victory over Bryansford at Páirc Aodha Dhuibh
