The under 16 girls were in action last Thursday against McCool's, McCool's were much more physical and organized but the girls didn't give up and acquitted themselves well, but in the end were well beaten by 4-15 to 2-4. Out Senior team came away with a well deserved win for the second week in a row with a scoreline of 1.06 to 0.14. However the Reserve team were not so lucky leading at half time it looked as if the same Glen lads failed to show for the second period. Going down by 3 points in the end.. The wind was the biggest factor in the match as proved by the xcoreline when Glen lead by 0.6 to 0.3 at half time. Final score 1.08 to 0.8. Best for Glen was Brendan Doherty. The Ernesiders were minus 11 senior players, notably team Captain Michael ‚ÄòSticky' Ward who sustained a serious injury in training and looks like being out of action for at least three weeks. The depleted squad meant a start for minor stars Donagh McIntyre, Diarmuid McInerney and Matthew Thompson, with David Dolan also coming on off the bench. The minors all gave extremely good performances, particularly in the context of having played a tough Championship game against Four Masters the night previous. Unfortunately Aodh Ruadh leaked two early goals and were chasing the game from the 15th minute on. Despite John Duffy coming on to give a vintage performance, Glenties were successfully able to keep Ballyshannon at arms length for the remainder of the game to maintain their unbeaten run in Division 1A. Go to www.aodhruadh.org to see the full match report. The reserves were in action against Naomh Conaill on Sunday and went down by 3-15 to 1-6. Paul Kane had a good game in nets as did Barry Travers in the back division and at midfield. Up front a lively Barry Gallagher caused Glenties a few headaches. Senior and reserve training continues at 6.45pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Keep an eye on the local press for the latest on upcoming senior fixtures. The third's Championship opener against Glenfin last Saturday was postponed and has been rescheduled for this Friday, 27th July, with throw in at Pairc Ghleann Fhinne at 8.00pm. See pigs fly!!! Pig racing comes to Ballyshannon on Saturday August 18th when Aodh Ruadh runs a seven race card in the East Port area of the town starting at 9pm. Pigs are available at Eu100. Aodh Ruadh is undertaking a major draw to fund the redevelopment of Munday's Field as a top class training facility. There is an impressive line-up of prizes with something there for everyone. All committee members are asked to attend. The club's summer camp came to a close last Friday. With 20 people employed and well over 200 attending over the three weeks the camp was a great success. Once again, thanks to McDevitt and McGlynn Accountants for their kind sponsorship. There is an under 10 blitz in Saint Naul's this Saturday, July 28th. The bus leaves for Mountcharles at 10.45am sharp from Father Tierney park. This blitz will be the last action for the under 10s until the start of the new school year. The report and pictures from the club's under 12 county final triumph will be up on the club website (www.aodhruadh.org) later in the week. Under 14 training continues on Wednesdays at 8pm in the park in anticipation of the squad's first round championship match against Ardara on 13th August. A busy week for the minors. They secured a 1-18 to 0-9 play-off victory over Naomh Columba in Dunkineely last Wednesday and were promptly pressed into action on the following Friday against Four Masters. The Donegal town side edged that game 3-8 to 2-9 in Father Tierney Park. The Naomh Columba game was played in atrocious conditions and was well refereed by Jimmy White. The victory was built around a strong midfield performance by David Dolan and Donagh McIntyre. Brian McGrath, Jason McMenamin and Ciaran Slevin were miserly in allowing Naomh Columba scoring opportunities, whilst up from Diarmuid McInerney, PJ McGee and Paul Hughes all gave an exhibition of shooting in very poor weather conditions. The Four Masters game saw David Dolan move to centre back where he gave a brilliant performance and, along with Damien Cleary and Peter Boyle in nets, ensured that Donegal town earned their scores the hard way. Again there was a good performance at midfield with Turkey and Ham a.k.a. Matthew Thompson and Donagh McIntyre winning plenty of primary possession. Starring in the forwards were Jason Kane, JJ Cassidy, Christopher Goan and Diarmuid McInerney who were up against a well drilled Four Masters defence. The first round, second leg Championship game against Four Masters is scheduled for Tuesday 24th July at 7pm in Tir Chonaill Park. ~ LOTTO ~ There was no winner of the Eu4,200 Aodh Ruadh Lotto jackpot. In the lucky dip Eu100 went to: Jimmy McGowan, Kinlough; Eu20 went each to: Josie Gallagher, Saint Benildus Avenue; Siobhan McGrath, The Bridgend Bar; Celine McGrath, Ernedale Heights; Francie Darcy, Josie's Bar; and Frank Clarke. The numbers drawn were 7, 9, 12, 13, 16 and 18. Next draw on is Monday night in The Market House with a Jackpot of Eu4,400. You can receive the club notes by e-mail every Tuesday morning. Naomh Padraig Lifford Both our adult teams had championship games last weekend and both had good victories.  On Saturday evening our reserves travelled to Dunfanaghy where they gave an excellent display in beating St. Michael's 1-22 to 1-3.  The following day, Sunday, in Lifford our A Team beat Naomh Ultan 1-13 to 1-7.  Scorers for Naomh Pádraig on Sunday were Lorny Crossan 0-8, Hugh Devine 1-2, Conor Catterson 0-1, Paul Given 0-1 & Stephen Roulstone 0-1. Thanks to club supporters who encouraged our players in both games.  It is unclear what fixtures our adult teams will have for the next two weeks.   Following some fine victories our under-14s have qualified for the divisional semi-final.  This game, V Fanad Gaels, will take place in Fanad on Monday July 30 @ 7.30pm.  The bus will leave the clubhouse at 5.30pm and manager Niall Mc Gee asks all players to be on time.   Our minor team is through to a play-off game against Downings in the championship.  Date & venue to be confirmed later.  Check our website or local press.   There was no Jackpot winner in our Lotto draw this week.  The numbers drawn were 1,8,9,13.  Two people matched 3 numbers and each won •50.  The winners were Ned Rodgers, Croghan Heights & Amy Mc Loone, Ballindrait.  Next week's Jackpot is •4,100.   The club wishes to extend its deepest sympathy to the Mc Ghee family, Castlefin on their recent bereavement.   Check out our website www.lifford.donegal.gaa.ie   Sean MacCumhaills Club Notes U-14 Football MacCumhaills U-14s continue unbeaten run against St Eunans. Our U-14's travelled to Letterkenny to play their forth league game of the new season, knowing that they would encounter a stiff opposition. MacCumhaills started the first half brighter but failed to turn the possession into scores. MacCumhaills started the scoring on the 5th minute with a point from Captain Rory Dunlevey, and then it was Ordhan Mc Dermott's turn to get his name on the scoring sheet with great build up play by Shane Mc Menamin and Emmett Mc Dermott. Shane O Donnnell was brought down for the first penalty of the game. Gavin 'Fireman' Gallagher stepped up to hit it, but he choose to take the point. Two minutes later fireman scored a fine free kick. Gavin Duffy later scored a brilliant point, with great attacking football which left the half time score 5 points each to both teams. St. Eunans started the second half the brighter. But with a few changes it wasn't long before MacCumhaills started to get on top with some great defending by Gary O Donnell and Andrew Mc Closkey and Eoin Mc Hugh, they stole the ball from St Eunans and gave a lovely pass to Andrew Gallagher who took the ball 40 yards before James Griffen, who was still on from last week, made no mistake and fired the ball to the back of the net. With some brilliant catches and good play by big Andrew Gallagher, gave MacCumhaills the determination to hold off a very strong St Eunans side. St Eunans hade a rally of scores and they got a penalty with 5minutes to go. MacCumhaills net minder Eoin Wright brought of yet another top class save but was taped in on the rebound.
