Naomh Conaill 0-11
St Eunan's 0-10
Despite playing the final 20 minutes with 14 men, Naomh Conaill pulled off a surprise victory in today's Donegal SFC final against St Eunan's in MacCumhaill Park, Ballybofey.
Substitute Eoghan McGettigan was shown a red card after a melee broke out in the 40th minute but that set-back failed to derail Naomh Conaill's challenge as they overturned a 0-6 to 0-7 half-time deficit.
Captain Leo McLoone led by example for the winners from his midfield berth and deservedly picked up the 'man-of-the-match' accolade.
Two points in quick succession from Johnny McLoone and corner-back Aaron Thompson proved to be decisive in the finish up.
The win brings to an end a five year wait for the men from the Glenties who are Donegal champions for a third time.
