Garth Brooks returns to Croke Park
Croke Park residents are contemplating taking legal action against the decision to stage five Garth Brooks concerts at GAA headquarters in July.
Locals claim their concerns have been largely ignored as the GAA invited politicians in for talks ahead of the July gigs.
"The GAA have too many people in high places," one resident, William Spence, said to the Irish Daily Mirror.
"The GAA talk the talk but they won't walk the walk. It's nothing but broken promises.
"The whole area is angered by it - it's going to be a lockdown situation for a complete week.
"Not only that, you have the week before and after with installation of the stage."
An unamed resident added: "I live 55 yards from the back of the Hill - I'm not going to be kept awake three weeks on the trot to have this.
"It is one thing if they came to us beforehand. The GAA talk about consultation, they had a meeting last Wednesday amongst what they call the local residents.
"That was a select audience by invite only - in terms of people around here no one know anything about it. We will have a meeting with all the residents and when that meeting is held Croke Park will know what they are dealing with."
After yesterday's meeting, Minister Joe Costello said: "Pauric Duffy stated the GAA was prepared to negotiate a comprehensive long-term written agreement with the residents and that a standing committee would be established to oversee its implementation."
