The reigning All-Ireland hurling and football champions put their respective provincial crowns on the line in pulsating encounters.

Four crunch clashes went down for decision in the baking heat, including the Munster senior hurling final and football semi-finals in both Leinster and Ulster.

Liam MacCarthy Cup holders Limerick locked horns with Tipperary in the 2021 Munster SHC decider at Pairc Ui Chaoimh to see who would become the maiden winners of the Mick Mackey Cup, while perennial Sam Maguire Cup and Delaney Cup winners Dublin entertained neighbours Meath in a hard-fought Leinster SFC semi-final at Croke Park.

The latter was the second part of a Leinster football semi-final double bill at HQ, which also featured the keenly-contested meeting of Westmeath and Kildare.

Meanwhile, the Ulster SFC final line-up was completed when fierce rivals Donegal and Tyrone collided at Enniskillen.
