Why would you want Jim Gavin? That ship has sailed.

Bit harsh on their performances this year... Only up from junior (whether or not they should have been in junior is a different story) finished 3rd in league and beating by the eventually winners in the knockouts (correct me if wrong) Semi final in championship against Donaghmoyne, and the game turned in a matter of seconds. 2 county men on the bench who weren't fit for a full match which easily could have tipped game in their favour. I'd say overall they'll be relatively happy with their season. currinman (Monaghan) - Posts: 52 - 14/10/2026 17:54:00 2697322 Link 1 |

"I'd say overall they'll be relatively happy with their season." This is Emyvales main problem. They are satisfied with mediocrity. They will be in Junior again before there in Senior and then they will celebrate walking junior as if they actually have achieved something. Rinse and repeat. younggun08 (Monaghan) - Posts: 53 - 15/10/2026 09:30:32 2697370 Link 0 |

Word is Joe Drew and Buggy are now taking the under 20s after the u20 backroom walkout this last few weeks. Kevin Nolan now minors farneygael3 (Monaghan) - Posts: 862 - 15/10/2026 11:17:26 2697391 Link 0 |

Exactly. The team has loads of quality and are seemingly happy with being competitive in intermediate. Theres senior teams with less quality, less county men and a worse age profile that are punching well above their weight. To my knowledge, Emyvale have 5 county senior players (6 if Conor Forde could be bothered) & 3 from this years u20 team. If that doesn't reflect underperforming what does? You've got a good one if ye can still get Clubber. Everyone seems to be blocked from watching Clubber on theirs. So a friend told me.

Did a bit of research before junior final. What is the story with Drumhowan. Not a good sign winning so many junior championships Farneyarmy2013 (Monaghan) - Posts: 89 - 16/10/2026 11:53:00 2697519 Link 1 |

They think they are too good to be in the division and then aren't good enough to be in the one above. It's a big step up from junior to intermediate

14 in a row county final appearances this weekend for Scotstown. Surely in a national record at this stage? farneygael3 (Monaghan) - Posts: 862 - 16/10/2026 14:13:29 2697549 Link 0 |

In Monaghan it must be along. Did crossmaglen beat this themselves in the 90s and 2000s , any other teams nationally?
