To be fair, it's a one off system this year with regards promotion, 3 teams been promoted from both junior and intermediate...

Think it's time to split league amd championship.

Think I seen it mentioned here previously.

If ye win league you go up only in league and not championship. With the greater chance of the bigger clubs second teams joining the junior league, I think it's tome to have a league structure that goes from division 1 to division 6 (division 6 been the now reserve division 3)

I could not believe that it Monaghan Harps last win was in 1923 and Carrickmacross 1919.

I know there is probably soccer in Monaghan town but surely that shouldn't be stopping a good town GAA team.

Carrick and Monagahn harps good footballing teams but they dont count when it comes to the buisness end. Theres always a drama or issues in the background

No knock out games for ages. Teams can lose a championship game and it hardly matters. The Ulster Champions finished third in there group last year. Big deal, it hardly hindered them.

This lack of edge has filtered down. Poor attendances at games and clubs dont even bother to put up starting teams or tweet the full game. Will even be worse next year in senior with 2 extra (and weaker) teams.

Im not saying go full Tyrone (straight knockout) but even the old format were if you lost you had 1 final chance in backdoor is better than this current "challenge game championship" we currently have.

Oh and on top of this the league is basically pointless."
Our stale championship isn't helping our county teams. Why not look at Tyrone's structure. League and championship are fire every round. County team not too bad either

Truagh competing against scotstown, when's the last time truagh beat scotstown in a championship game. Truagh are nowhere near it

But sure who else has beat Scotstown it's been complete domination for the last 15 years. Ballybay are now gone. Clontibret are in a stage of transition.

Truagh along with Iniskeen are the only teams in Monaghan capable of putting up some sort of game to Scotstown. Truaghs problem as I said is consistency. But I belive if they meet Scotstown at the buisness end they will run them close.

Blayney will be the team who will most likely be there to profit from Scotstown's natural decline in the next few seasons. Or Carrick possibly. Inniskeen have an excellent team just at the wrong time

Think this one has to be a blayney vs truagh final. Great to see clubber wants to show off our brilliant standard of hurling in the county, soon to be up competing with Limerick.

No they won't they truagh team of the late 90s thought the same and couldn't lay a glove on an aging Blayney team

Inniskeen like the mayo team of the 2010's. Would have 3/4 championships at this stage if it wasn't for the scotstown machine

How does relegation work from senior with only one going down. Example if Cremartin are in the relegation final do they have two chances to stay up if they win both games

If Scotstown were to suffer and implode in the next few years (unlikely), I don't think any one team would take over it'd be quite open for a couple of years

Hurling in monaghan is at its lowest ebb in a long long time at adult. Blayney should win it with a bit to spare. They have been beaten only four times in the last what 20 odd years all by inniskeen. Inniskeen would have a decent team if some of their footballers played. I'm surprised blayney they don't field a junior team given their numbers.

With the way the groups work is it an inniskeen Scotstown semi final this year ? Then who knows about the other group? Could see Carrick in a semi easily

Th next team to take down Scotstown and properly be able to compete is Blayney. But that could be 5 years away yet

They couldn't win an intermediate championship the 3/4 years they were down there and now your saying they'll put it up to scotstown
