But it is a steep path to get that one Irish spot per team on their category B rookie list that is permitted. Category B maximum salary per year btw is under €36k so the land of milk and honey doesn't start straight away. Very interesting to see, and kind of surprising that he never attended one of these combine/trial days before. Going by the media reports he may have been one of the older lads at the trials given that other lads who attended were both of Kerry's U20 midfielders and Westmeath's Cristóir Ormsby, a mountain of a man who won the Hogan Cup with Mullingar CBS this year. Would be a huge blow for Leitrim naturally but a wonderful opportunity for Barry were something to come of it. I believe he's going into 4th Year in UCD this Autumn so I'd imagine a two year rookie contract, if he could bag one would be a hugely attractive proposition for a lad coming out of college. Am hoping to cross the bridge in Rooskey this weekend to see a game in Leitrim SFC. Leitrim Gaels must be favourites again. Is it a toss up between Mohill, Fenagh, Bmore SOH and St Mary's after that ? Heard there was fireworks in Bmore v Mohill last week. The Gaa has to do something about AFL taking our talent for nothing. Like kobe and barry are two of the best wonderkids to ever come from mayo and leitrim and wont be able to see the very best of them.
