Watched Louth match back for my sins. Few things. Mooney did well enough or as good as he could given the circumstances being thrown in like that. He definitely wasnt the winning and losing of the game overall. Gallaghers loss was bigger for Monaghan arguably as it robbed mccarville of his wingman on kickouts. The match was lost in the first half and monaghans inability to take advantage of the red card it kept louth in it and they grew from it the two pointer to end the half a huge moment. I dont think any of the other teams left in the championship would have shown louth as much mercy as we did in that period. We actually played well in the second half bar the last few minutes when the team faded in face of louth surge. Ciaran Byrne was a massive sub for them. There was also a crucial period after the goal when we didnt push on some bad wides which might have seen enough but louth timed their finishing kick well. Devlin played his cards better but it was that first half lack of response to red card which killed us in this one. Louth outscored us in that period 12 pts to 1-03. That was the winning and losing. seanie08 (Monaghan) - Posts: 2023 - 05/07/2026 21:54:41 2684401 Link 2 |

Big win for Truagh at the weekend. It does go under the radar how poor they have been the last few years. Believe they wanted the manager gone again a few weeks ago but seem to have it sorted. Is Mohan back playing? farneygael3 (Monaghan) - Posts: 744 - 06/07/2026 12:02:36 2684472 Link 0 |

Big win but still ended up in the relegation play off. Could be their saving grace they are facing a Corduff side who couldn't pull a team together at the weekend.

Only one I would argue with is Corduff going down, if they get Mc Gee back in and a few more body's back they will definitely survive against cremartin. Shut down mooney and cremartin don't have much else

Conor Mc Cooey been away for a couple of years now. Big miss for Clontibret especially with their mounting injury list. He will soon be able to tog for New York seniors in the tall tin cup Monaghanmad123 (Monaghan) - Posts: 8 - 06/07/2026 16:11:15 2684528 Link 0 |
