I agree to an extent on the projects, processes, year 1 etc. Teams and managers now are like boring corporations. "Oh yes in year three we will be here"…what? This is sport there is zero guarantee year 3 or 4 will be your year.

For me aside from the hard work and dedication, sports is about opportunity, timing and Iuck. Take your chances when they come along because you may not get another.

Game day! Big performance needed. I wouldn't be surprised to see Ruane start. Safe traveling to all the Meath fans but obviously I hope ye don't enjoy the result. Up Mayo!

I agree 100% with this. Of course there's a general plan to develop and improve, but nothing is linear in sport and like you said, you need to take your chance when it comes.
So many things can change, other teams improve, you get some bad draws, injuries etc. Whereas a few good draws, avoiding injuries, a favourite getting knocked out by someone else and all of a sudden you have a chance you earlier than expected.
You're always planning for the future, but the focus should always be on trying to achieve in the here an now.
