I agree! but as for other posters saying that Moycullen people thought he should be on first 15 doesn't tally with many of limited number of Moycullen people whom I talk to, many of them feel he is in the wrong code as he is a Fitzgibbon winner with UL also played previously with NUIG I don't recall seeing him on a Sigerson football team even though the late Don Connellan was involved in the NUIG management.Maybe its just the people I meet.My hope is any player who gets a chance does himself justice .

We also have 2 all Irelands, 1 div 2 league title, and 10 connachts since 1992 so don't think ye can claim to be better than us?

Connellan lucky to get away with that technique for the 2nd half throw in, I thought it was a foul. It was odd to start McDonagh, don't think he's been seen since the Roscommon games so he's been out for nearly 4 months. Assume he's been injured and Joyce rates him really highly. I like him but given Conroy, Maher, D'Arcy & Tierney all started as did McDaid then its not as if we're short on height. I though McGrath looked sharp when he came on and improved the balance of the team. TheBishop (Galway) - Posts: 325 - 16/06/2026 14:06:09 2680178 Link 0 |

I was poking at the one moycullen lad who comes on here bigging up all the moycullen players and wondering when Joyce is going to pay for Cookes flights home. I also think not the general feeling in moycullen. systematic (Galway) - Posts: 323 - 16/06/2026 15:09:42 2680192 Link 0 |

I forgot about our D2 titles, we won 3 of them since 2000 when they commenced finals. Was your last D1 league title in 1980?

Didn't realise that it was he who made that key intervention for the first goal. That was a big play, in fairness. We seemed to hit him with low fast ball early on, and he got bet ugly for one of them, which made him look out of his depth. You'd imagine that with a unit that size in your inside line, fast low ball would be well down the list of ball supply options. Daly and Walsh found Tierney for 1-1 before HT with beautifully flighted high balls. Something similar into Fionn might have made him look better that the few fast low ones that he was cleaned out on. Pope_Benedict (Galway) - Posts: 4815 - 16/06/2026 16:22:32 2680204 Link 1 |

We've an awful habit of dismissing players after a few games. It takes time. Fionn will be a big player for us in the next few years with Thompson, Hernon, McGlinchey and Mulhern. Now is the time to bed them in.

More seafoid. You cant say Cork and Dublin ARE Div 1 teams. Either dublin are and cork will be next year. Or cork are and dublin are no longer.

Wrote of D'Arcy & Maher after watching them in 2020 and in fairness both dropped of the panel after that but it shows what improvements can be made, both went away and got themselves in the best physical condition and look at them now. I think McDonagh will be a big player for Galway and is a huge man but doesn't have the same conditioning as either Maher/D'Arcy but why would he, going too take time. It will be interesting to see how Colm Costello does for Dunmore this summer and will ha have improved since last year, Mulryan was brilliant for the 20's and thought he might get a look in but its clearly a difficult matchday panel to make.
