We had a good team that year and had taken Offaly to ET in Leinster. After beating Clare, Dublin had an eye on the QF against Cork/Galway & totally underestimated us.

Some achievement by Galway doing a clean sweep in Leinster this year - winning the Leinster Senior, u20 and Minor Hurling Championships. Fionn (Dublin) - Posts: 5046 - 10/06/2026 08:54:53 2678808 Link 0 |

Or you could join us in a Connacht Championship and give Wexford a chance

Why, do you not think Galway would be competitive in the Munster SHC.??? Surely the next step…! ;o) Fionn (Dublin) - Posts: 5046 - 11/06/2026 13:48:08 2678987 Link 0 |

I dont think alot of Galway and Munster folk realise what a boost winning a Leinster title gives hurling in counties like ours Fionn. Especially at grassroots level, and when top young players are deciding between Hurling, Football, soccer and rugby. Viking66 (Wexford) - Posts: 19985 - 11/06/2026 13:59:43 2678991 Link 1 |

Galway should move to Munster. Of the 8 sides already eliminated from the Tailteann Cup, a staggering 4 are Munster sides, so clearly an infusion of quality is required for that particular 'championship'. As regards MHC, Waterford should be plotting a way out, rather than Galway plotting a way in. Otherwise, they'll be changing manager regularly for the foreseeable future.

100% and the same for Dublin. The fact that Galway made a clean sweep of Leinster hurling titles this year is not good for Leinster counties, it could be argued. I personally don't see an issue with Galway being added to the Munster SHC. They have conquered Leinster. Time to move them on to the next level now. At least we would have 2 competitive hurling provinces. Fionn (Dublin) - Posts: 5046 - 11/06/2026 17:50:47 2679033 Link 0 |

I think a workable acceptable solution is put Galway into Munster and allow 4 qualify from 6. Still only same amount of Rds but another 2 million for Munster coffers . Leinster then another group of 6 with 4 qualifying also. Top 2 into Provincial Finals. 3rd Munster home to 4th Leinster. 3rd Leinster home to 4th Munster. Winners of those games play the losers of Provincial Finals and so on. Bottom 2 play Relegation Final. Yes Munster is stronger but a 6 team Leinster Group of Kilkenny, Dublin, Offaly, Wexford, Kildare and Laois is still acceptable in my opinion and constantly playing each other plus the odd game v Munster teams and Provincial Final appearances will improve all those Counties. This is gas, the sensationalism. 1 season of claiming the minor, u20 and Senior provincials and all of a sudden we must go. What about when Kilkenny were winning it every year and even sometimes at a canter, where the same noises being said for them to go to the Munster Championship. We'd of loved them to go, but unfortunately they are in the province ;-)
