Spot on Fionn. We now need to play in the Neller to take advantage of home support.Croke park I agree was a huge advantage to the Dubs when we had the fans attending but now many have deserted so we need the Neller where the support can drive us on i googled the advantage of home venue in sport and it says there are three big things.One is pitch familiarity.Two is home crowd support giving the home team extra energy and three is referee unintentional bias swayed by the home supporters. The lads we had for a decade were generational. We have been fairly competitive without being world beaters but our roll of honour excluding this period and the great team of the 70's is very poor:- No All Ireland in the 30's 1 All Ireland in the 40's 1 All Ireland in the 50's 1 All Ireland in the 60's 3 All Irelands in the 70's 1 All Ireland in the 80's 1 All Ireland in the 90's No All Ireland in the 00's We have had 2 great squads. That is it. I never buy into the population argument. The amount of actual players is a better barometer. And after that a lot of it comes down to coaching. And I think we have failed on that front tbh. Look at our lack of underage success compared to other counties. Tyrone being a very good example. Some counties live for GAA - I am not so sure we do that in Dublin. Soccer is far most popular. Yes we have some great clubs but nowadays we are talking about the same 5 clubs winning all the time in both codes. And for a county with so many clubs to have that few clubs winning is a problem imo. Have you seen where the Dublin footballers train ??? Crazy. Take a look at our high performance area just inside the gates of Parnell Park. Bonkers. Therein lies a big problem - DCB. Asleep at the wheel, one could say….! Lol Fionn.Most Leinster supporters are Dubs.I have always found it crazy that many other Leinser ccounties would support Munster over Leinster.

To be honest it would be hope rather than expectation for a win. It wouldn't be acceptable for anything less than leaving everything on the pitch by the players and there are no better supporters for when players do that. Cavan football seems to always be in transition so we never know what to expect, one thing we do know is that there is ability and application within the player pool so on any given day they should give a good account of themselves, managers, coaches, tactics etc. will always generally dictate what level of relative success any group of players gives a county when the players apply themselves properly. In reality Cavan are a long way off winning an ulster let alone competing at the later stages of an All Ireland, however progress can be made and a scalp like Dublin, whilst unlikely (look at bookies odds), is attainable on any given day. Such is the intercounty standard playing pool of players currently available to Cavan at the moment that not having players like James Smith in Midfield and Padraig Faulkner in defence are a massive loss to replace. I always feel it is unfair to refer to players not making themselves available, particularly from rural counties as the variables that impact the ability and capability of players to commit over a whole season to intercounty football are so much more. The world and career choices to 20 year old's plus now is a lot different to that of 5 - 10 years ago let alone beyond that. unfortunately in a lot of counties if some dominant players do not / cannot commit to intercounty football the affect on a teams capability is more acutely felt. That's my own view on it. I expect Cavan to give, at a minimum, a good account of themselves and let Dublin worry about themselves, to date Cavan have, in parts, accounted for themselves well against Monaghan & Westmeath but not enough throughout the whole of the games to affect the result. You were complaining that the GAA fixed the match for Sunday instead of Saturday, as it meant Brennan would be back. At the same time you said you thought his ban was too harsh.
