Yikes, keep out of the sun Gantric. The folly of ignorance. Best of luck in the Tailteann Cup. Love to all.

I take you haven't watched much Leitrim football over the last few years. Even with all the upheaval, the current team is better drilled and focused then anything the last lad ever did with them. AND the current manager doesn't have another county manager standing beside him which the last lad had. Anyhow, the writing is on the wall, the Mayo faithful won't tolerate what poor auld Leitrim did.

Regardless of resets I'll be surprised if Mayo don't win by a few points to spare this weekend.

I haven't missed a match in years and I include that dreadful night in New York! I just disagree on your summary, We have beaten Waterford, London and Longford (who in hindsight threw that game as it meant nothing going into the last day) in the last 2 years in the league. Couldn't or didn't want to a fulfil league fixture. Now thats hardly a well drilled team in a period of two years. We beat a Sligo side who are in rag order and Carlow last week are in turmoil which is plain for anyone to see considering they beat us by 23 points a few weeks ago. So I ask again what do you deem a successful year? The last two years have been a disaster and don't get me started on the managers antics on the sideline. Last weekend was a joke and should we mention the 2 pointer he cost us in Wicklow? He was a bad appointment and should have parted company after the Fermanagh debacle last year. As stated before I wasn't Moran's biggest fan either but it was far better than what we have now. Same S&C, analysis and most of the team except Pearse and Mark who it was well documented were leaving. Everyone else was still in place when he took the reins! But hey you buy into the narrative that he is selling and that is why we will always be the fifth best team in Connaught!

He was a forwards coach. He helped Monaghan to become a good 2 point scoring team in the first year of the 2 pointers. They reached the last 8. Nothing amazing there. So in his one year as a coach with Monaghan was totally overblown by who in the media?

Can we see evidence of this overblown hype? I don't remember it being honest. yew_tree (Mayo) - Posts: 12095 - 28/05/2026 13:18:37 2676267 Link 0 |

A few journalists ask the Monaghan manager/players how Andy Moran is getting on.. they reply in the standard way i.e. he's doing well and they like working with him... Journalists publish said responses and you think that is overblown?

Monaghan reached All Ireland quarter finals and two semi-finals before Moran arrived. During that time they had plenty of good long range shooters. One example of where it was overblown was on off the ball where Moran was a guest on that station himself many times. They decided to run with the narrative that Moran in one year as a forward coach had transformed Monaghan. They played in Division 2 and were favourites to be promoted and got the group of life to reach the last 8 of the championship and in that Quarter final match their shooting and general forward play was woeful in the 2nd half as Donegal playing their 3rd match in 14 days eased to victory.
