It use to be a decent thread with well informed Leitrim posters however most have departed now and you are left with the likes Gantric,ohwow, blathach who offer next to nothing to the discussion.

Id rather be in div2 of the League playing Dublin, Tyrone etc than playing in the TC myself.

You'd be well advised to avoid some of these self-proclaimed experts .
Schools have closed and some lads are experimenting with disused laptops.

Of course Wexford are deserving of respect, they're D2 for the coming league.

The aforementioned 'shrewd football men' are fictional.

If it looks like trolling or other drivel.... please dont take the bait. Ignore completely, never respond and in time - the above-mentioned half-wits will disappear, it will then be worth coming back more often.

As to the match - being in Carrick is huge, for example I have a feeling that Wexford would have beaten Fermangh on their home patch. There is plenty of evidence (Div 2) and results (beat Westmeath for promotion and toe-to-toe with Down in Croke Park, a team that beat us comfortably) to confirm Wexford are clearly above us in the pecking order, and the worst draw we could have got would have been away to Wexford.

But of course things aren't that simple - Leitrim are exuding a level of confidence I haven't seen in a long time. It points to a real contest, and a tricky hurdle for Wexford. Some doubts - like all smaller counties injury concerns Barry McNulty and Tom Prior are big losses, I have my doubts they'll be available. Second thing - a bit of 'bad blood' (sadly) with our old friends Carlow, over remarks that were made about us post their loss to Wicklow, and other 'stuff' - Leitrim clearly 'pumped' last Saturday. No such motivation against Wexford - you wouldn't want to be relying on it, but sometimes its does add fuel to a team. ( Wexford may have a gripe against us over the soft penalty a few years ago, but cant see that being a motivation really, time has passed, wasn't our fault ( referree decision), was acknowldeged).

The home advantage matters if Wexford don't silence the home support early and it gets close. Bit of pressure on them as the favourites ( I assume) and its close into the last quarter. Be interesting to see the odds
