Is Paddy Egan gone from the panel? I heard last night in Tuam Stadium he was outstanding for Corofin last Friday night against Milltown.

Sometimes players can be released to play for their clubs, to keep their competitive instincts honed.

Where is this info coming from and are you suggesting Joyce was telling tales when he said both would miss the Connnacht final?

Didn't Thompson undergo a procedure on his ankle? Seems hard to believe he's ok that soon

Why isnt Barry Mchugh getting a look in at all with the seniors? Especially with Daly back into the fray. They work immcaculately together for the club with Dalys and also the likes of O Conghaile's kickpassing ability and Mchughs sheer class when it comes to point scoring I dont see how a team could deal with a full forward line of Mchugh finnerty and Mcdonnacha. We have a set of forwards capable of winning an all Ireland. All about picking the right team

Mayo played ok in the first half and were well on top, but didn't take their chances and coughed up easy scores, especially the goal. 2nd half, as I said, Mayo were clueless, the worst I've ever seen, and Ros just capitalised on how inept they were, a good club team would have beaten them on their 2nd half performance,
Galway won't be that poor, so I see a 5 in a row without too many problems. If Rossies are capable of doing to Galway what they did to Mayo in the 2nd half, well then I'll change my opinion and have them right up there with Kerry, Donegal, but i doubt it"
Everythings on the day, especially between 2 evenly matched teams like Galway and Roscommon. Not a huge surprise if Roscommon won by a similar scoreline as they did against Mayo or Galway done likewise to be honest, I don't know if either result should massively change your opinion at this stage.
Would you have Down up there with Kerry because of the result last weekend?

We need Barry Mc Hugh, we are the only panel without a dead ball free taker.

I guess we all get sucked in by recency bias. We are all now thinking that Roscommon and Down both are top 5 teams based on 1 performance against 2 sides who werent at their best. The last couple of years we have seen inconsistent results ( i.e. A beats B, B beats C and C beats A , e.g. meath hammer kerry, donegal hammer meath, kerry hammer donegal) to an extent that we never saw before so we need to be careful into reading into a single result/performance. No doubt ros and downs stock is on the rise but they need to back sundays performance up with more similar performance before being considered in the top bracket. I would still be surprised if either of the 2 make an all ireland semi.

Stick him in goal! Bring him up for the long range frees

Seeing as Galway haven't lost a championship match by more than a point in 4 years, I think it would be a surprise if they were beaten as badly as Mayo were last weekend. Galway have been very competitive regardless of the opposition, even against those whom Galway would be expected to beat more easily.
Mayo on the other hand have been very up and down, like the poor loss to Cavan last year, and then beating Tyrone well and running Donegal to a point a few weeks later.
Galway on the other hand have been much more consistent in terms of results and lots of close games. On form I'd have Roscommon as slight favourites, but it could go either way.

That's ironic as that was tried a few years ago in a few challenge games. Never went any further unfortunately as I think it could have been a decent option

Can you confirm if he's actually broken his ankle or just done ligaments?

Galway deserve their favourite tag, as you have pointed out very consistent and hard to beat.

Haven't lost away match in Connacht since 2014, or lost to Roscommon in Hyde Park since 1990 two records that speak for themselves. Going for 5 in a row will have all players and management very focused.

Be interesting to see how Mondays draw goes as the Connnacht winner could be paired with Donegal,Tyrone and Connacht loser v Cavan or Kildare

Connacht semi-final in Tubbercurry at half time

Sligo 0-3 Galway 0-6

Galway with 12 shots in that half so 50% strike rate. Sligo had 11 shots and two was goal chances saved and kicked Wides.
