Replying To CillTormoir:  "Is the Kilkenny game switched to 7pm on 18th as listed on the gaa+ tv schedule, or is that just deferred coverage which they have not stated. Offaly and Dublin is their 4.30 game"
The Leinster GAA page says 4.30pm

U20 panel named. Management will have some tweaking to do in the Leinster knockout stages to try and fit the right mix into the forward line once Niland and Rabbitte are available. You'd imagine Ciaran Leen, Brian Callanan, Vince Morgan and Colm Burke might be the other four to start there but then you'd be leaving out Harry Holmes and Conor Gilligan. Ronan Cahalan and Jack Shaughnessy two lovely forwards on the younger end of the panel as well. Will be interesting to see how they line out on Saturday.

The other point of interest with that u20 team is who will they pick at centre back. The fresher A colleges final this year had UL with Darragh Counihan at 6 and Jonah Donnellan playing at 6 for ATU Galway. Donnacha Campbell was alternating between half back and half forward for the Mary I Fitzgibbon team so they have a few good options there.

Why would Niland and Rabbitte not be available, are they injured?

Surely with Campbell named captain he's going to play, probably 6 with a view to sweeping?

There are 3 group games and let's hope they mix it up a bit from game to game. Only need to finish in the top 3 to get to the knockouts and you'd expect we would manage that at a minimum, though last year we did limbo comfortably under the minimum bar so we can't take too much for granted of course

The game against Kilkenny u20 is on a Wednesday in between two senior championship matches and you only have to win one group game in this Leinster u20 championship to get through. I can't imagine Rabbitte and Niland will play all the group games. Would surely make sense to rest them for one u20 group match and have them back in for the knockout games. Squad is good enough to top the group without them.

Yeah that'd make sense but one would expect both to start on Saturday if available all the same.

I would certainly advocate mixing things up if the group situation allows it
