Looking at the. Team it's prob best with what's available and I'd say slim chance of Darcy playing full forward I know one poster said he one top midfielder in country I'd say not in top 20 biggest problem with a good few of defenders especially full back line they descent defenders in fairness but very poor at kicking ball I'd like see finnery centre forward he gets very tied up at times in corner snd looking at Donegal full back line ther will be running up the field a lot usually centre backs don't do as much and in fairness he has good vision to find a pass ,, if going be tough one hard see anything but a 5/6 point win for Donegal coukd do with both mayo and Ross winning ,, don't think Fitz or molloy inj ,, im actually small bit surprised that they not start Gleason for the long kickouts to turn the Donegal half back line , but good to see McGrath getting game time he will keep improving

Molloy has not had a good game all league, very lucky to get the start against Kerry after his 2 previous performances.

How many of the current u20's in with Galway, obviously McGlinchey, Mulhern & Mulryan. Anyone else?

Replying To Galwaymaster9:  "It's no wonder he is heading to Australia, absolutely crazy fanning about him, ould fellas in their 50s and 60s running after him in Clones at the end of the game, his father was a good one too but like Kobe is surrounded by mediocre players, hence why he is getting out of dodge..
Mac Senior never had the option..

Monaghan are the worst division 1 side in years and were in the dressing room early, I mean even Aidan got 1 1.. the worst thing for themas they can't drop him now..
His wild celebration for the goal shows how much a relief it is for him to finally score..
All in all Roscommon will definitely put it up to them in the Connacht semi, a defeat there in year 1 for Handy Andy so early would show the young mc Donald will be delighted to get our of their.."
"Finally score" if memory serves he also got a goal less than a month ago against your very own county....

Replying To gbay:  "im saying this along time..
pj and co can not pick a team..

why o why do they consistently play players out of position..

darcy one of best midfielders in ireland named at 14..
all star wing back playing at 6
all star corner back playing at 5.

mulkerrins a natural 3 not playing..

does anyone no if james macloughlin is part of the panel?

cant see a result here and i think relegation will be staring at us in after sunday..

anyways best of luck lads and safe travels to everyone making the journey."
Ye won't go down, you still have to play Monaghan and Dublin plus you have the head to head over Armagh if needed

Everyone out there knows darcy and o conghaile will swap and o conghaile will go into the corner. Some lads are just looking for excuse to complain !!! Numbers on their back mean nothing nowadays. Joyce is obviously shuffling the deck to get gametime and try out as many players as he can and will learn about a lot of these players in how they handle themselves against this donegal side who have set the bar in league so far.. O Laoi must still be injured as we could do with his pace carrying ball forwards form hb line against pacy donegal side. Dont see us getting a huge impact off that bench this weekend again but we will wait and see.

Replying To GalwaysFinest:  "They have played Offaly, Westmeath and Cork in recent weeks, without the lads involved in the senior team.
Without these, they look very very mediocre. Obviously could be a different team with 3/4 of these guys added back in."
Minors have not been hectic the past few years. Think the U20's will be 3rd favourites for Connacht at best.

Fitz certainly is judging by Carson's inclusion in the panel as only backup full back option. Molloy probably as you'd imagine he'd be included ahead of mulkerrins or Mikey mulryan.

Kobe is a great prospect and I wish him all the best, but I thought this was a Galway football forum. Hard to see us getting a result Sunday, expect the usual doom and gloom here afterwards

To your one who said no wonder kobe is heading to Australia. Didn't look like he minded playing for mayo at all over weekend .......... he might still change his mind by the looks of it looked like he really enjoyed it. ...
Thought ye would be more focused on Donegal then worrying about young kobe ..... !

No wonder Kobe McDonald has decided to move to Australia if the past few pages from Mayo posters are anything to go by

I just wish that people would allow the lad get on with his life and play the game , if that is what he wants. Every person deserves respect.

Hard to know what to think after that but we threw it away as far as I am concerned. 7 up and a man up for most of the game. I know a lot is down to inexperience but we gave away the ball far too much. Donegal took their foot of the pedal today compared any if their recent games and only got really stuck in for Q4. With the Dubs finally getting going its going to be another nailbiter for us on the last day. mayo did us a big favor today holding on V Armagh, but we can not afford any slip up V Monaghan. Dubs v Armagh is going to massive. In the end it may well come down to our head to head v Armagh keeping is up.

Great to get the draw. Maher's block down vital. Gleeson played an unbelievable kick out to Shane McGrath - just a pity he was being subbed off at the time. lol. Mayo did us a big favour by beating Armagh. It's still in our hands to stay up.

A Dublin win against Armagh coupled with us not losing to Monaghan will see us stay up. However, it rarely works out as straightforward as that.

If we 'slip up' against a side taking zero points with minus55 pts difference, averaging 11point beatings through their opening 5 games, then maybe we don't deserve div1 status.

Well that second half was a brutal watch. More inclined to pass backwards than forwards. No one with the nerve to pull the trigger for a point, instead trying to walk it into the goals in the face of a packed Donegal back line. Gleason still offering nothing; at this point his his '65s aren't even reliable. And remind me again which team had someone sent off?
This looked like a team were players were more afraid to take chances, than interested in winning. Lucky to get the draw.

Galway would have took a point before the gane and you will surely beat Monnaghan so think you'll be fine in terms of staying up.
Galway played ok today but as you say Donegal only got going late in the game.

I dont agree with Galway posters making silly comments about Kobe or indeed negative comments about Mayo football in general but i have to respond to stupidity. The cynicism/sarcasm of your " well done..galway for sam" comment is laughable. In Galway we know our limitations and are nationally not renowned for the " x for sam expression" where we all know who the x stands for in the expression, but never is in reality, and hasnt been for 75 years. Galway did have a man advantage for exactly half the game today ( not most of it) and probably should have got over the line, but at least we got a result , unlike Mayo, who were comprehensively beaten by donegal. Having said all this i want to state that my remarks are specific to your cynicism and not mayo football in general, as i am delighted with Mayos result today, i am delighted to watch the brilliance of Kobe, and would be delighted to see Mayo lift Sam.
