Yes it was unfair to allow the meath goal... but meath and many other teams have been robbed in the past. But the behaviour of a small section of louth fans after and during the match was a total disgrace. I couldnt believe what happened after the match.. the way the few thugs behaved was the worst i have ever witnessed. Bottles and cans were thrown onto the pitch where there was young supporters making their way onto the pitch. It was a disgrace and i hope there is something done about it. The small bunch of idiots who wre involved have let their county down badly and as for the louth manager saying the ref had no balls on rte radio after the match let himself down too. 1984 (Meath) - Posts: 31 - 11/07/2010 18:29:12 703821 Link 0 |

I'm actually trying not to laugh at the poor unfortunate Louth supporters and their supporters around the country posting here. CarryOnHurling (Meath) - Posts: 169 - 11/07/2010 18:41:33 703867 Link 0 |

yeah the goal was clearly not a goal no one can argue that it wasnt. In my opinion it was another worng decision to add to the list of wrong decisions he made throughout the game. The inconsistency of the ref for both temas was unreal nd the goal was just anither inconsistanecy tot he add to the others. Louth were the better team on the day no arguments but again if they were in this situation what would they do??? It's a hard question to answer because everyone will say they would but until your put into the situation you really dont know waht you would do. m11 (Meath) - Posts: 61 - 11/07/2010 18:46:30 703887 Link 0 |
Not a great game - lot of poor kicking, misses and bed passing. WhatADay (USA) - Posts: 4 - 11/07/2010 19:00:04 703927 Link 0 |
If a player is fouled on the goal line and falls over the line, which is what happened, then surely the goal stands. At the very least it is a penalty. Would Louth settle for the game to be restarted with 30 seconds left and a penalty to Meath. Look lads there are regularly hard luck stories in sport. Would Louth or any of the muppets from other counties posting on this page, offer us a replay. Would they hell. They would rub our noses in it. Those stating that Meath would gain some brownie points from offering a replay are insincere. They hate Meath and all they want is to see us knocked out. If we don't actually win the All Ireland, and I don't really think at this stage that we are good enough to do so, then the muppets will be on this site in force with their ill conceived comments. Just watch and see. We won today with a rub of the green at the end, but it barely made up for all the bad decisions that went against us. And if the decision had gone against us today would a minority of our fans have disgraced themselves. Well we don't know the answer to that, but history shows that Meath fans have never behaved like that and I don't believe that they would have today. Incidentally my sons tell me that some of the thugs who misbehaved inside the stadium carried on with trying to start something on Jones' Road afterwards only the Meath lads ignored them and went on home. Congratulations Meath. Our players, officials and supporters are a credit to our county. We can hold our heads up. In fairness so can the vast majority of the Louth fans. Everyone I offered my hand to shook it and accepted that these things happen heartbreaking though it may be. I hope they do well in the qualifiers and would relish another game against them. This will be interesting now. Trial by TV from the CCCC has been used to ban players for events not in the refs report. 1988 (Galway) - Posts: 354 - 11/07/2010 19:24:01 704001 Link 0 |
Thierry Henry admitted it after the match. No doubt Sheridan will too. After the match! 1988 (Galway) - Posts: 354 - 11/07/2010 19:32:10 704030 Link 0 |

I have a feeling he was going to blow a penalty however I'd doubt if it was. I don't blame Meath and I don't think they should have to offer it. Being realistic if it was the reverse Louth wouldn't offer one nor would any county!! Theres no rule in place and the CCCC cannot review scores either so the only thing they can deal with is what happened after the final whistle. datsrite (Sligo) - Posts: 473 - 11/07/2010 20:00:34 704114 Link 0 |

Louth were robbed, but they also lost the game by the number of wides the kicked, and goal chances they missed, it maybe unfair that meath won but thats sport we all had games when we won by less than fair means. The only reason we are making such a racked is because it came so close to the end and decided the end result. Having sais that meath would show real leadership and character in offering a replay bodiddy (Longford) - Posts: 34 - 11/07/2010 20:17:22 704155 Link 0 |

No excuses for what the Louth supporters did - completely out of order. I think most will accept that and I expect heavy sanctions. WhatADay (USA) - Posts: 4 - 11/07/2010 20:26:11 704175 Link 0 |
Louth are Leinster Champions 2010. They should not have to replay a game they clearly won! John711 (Wicklow) - Posts: 50 - 11/07/2010 20:36:22 704210 Link 0 |
I have watched it over and over again and nothing I have seen indicates that it should have been a penalty. There was no square ball for either Kenny or Sheridan but when Joe collects the ball he just runs and throws himself into the louth lads on the line. There is no way that a penalty could have been given for that. Twisted_Menace (Kerry) - Posts: 113 - 11/07/2010 20:46:20 704236 Link 0 |
Thats like saying Wexford should replay their match against galway because the ref was poor in that game. **** happens.Louth will get a dodgy decision in their favour soon. End off. Football is football. Louth fans made a show of a great amateur oganisation, No1 should have smypathy for them, Meath2010 (Meath) - Posts: 108 - 11/07/2010 20:48:05 704246 Link 0 |
