In reply to fellow members,st.michaels ground is under development but nothing has started so do not know how it could possibly look like a building site? Fair enogh if youv had experience playing on Moynalty football pitch, but i strongly disagree that you can consider the playing surface bad because of mud of your football boots? Kells football pitch has smaller size goalposts than many other pitches and the dug outs arnt the best............also quite along walk from the dressing rooms to the actual pitch. Also id like to make the point that s.tmichaels pitch is called st.michaels...not carlanstown! michaels_lad (Meath) - Posts: 33 - 18/06/2009 21:03:25 316460 Link 0 |
updaroyal moynaltys pitch is brilliant...i was at a championship game this year and it was perfect...and the game was well stewarded...i also think the pitch in meath hill is good...the surface is excellent clubman17 (Meath) - Posts: 109 - 18/06/2009 21:44:20 316502 Link 0 |
Re Analyst: Would you like to elaborate on the whole joke thing and would you mind telling me what club you come from. I'm beginning to think that a lot of people on this forum never kicked a ball in they're lives. I never said that Clan na Gaels facilities were up there with the best but my point was that there are huge plans within the club to develop new facilities which will surpass 90% of that which is already in Meath, but until that happens it's important for club to continue getting big championship matches. I've played championship for the last 20 years in this county and I have to say that the facilities are more than adequate for the majority of footballers and hurlers. You will always get a few premadonnas and fans who never kicked a ball who'll bitch and whine but to be honest I always laughed at them and definitely never took their opinion on anything seriously. hootervillian (Meath) - Posts: 309 - 18/06/2009 22:30:15 316551 Link 0 |
clubman good to hear, I said that it was a couple of years ago when I played on it so obviously it's been improved since. updaroyal (Meath) - Posts: 1132 - 19/06/2009 01:13:10 316686 Link 0 |
Best surfaces in the county all year round are those in Dunganny .... But why the hell are there championship matches played there. We played a hurling champ match there this year and after a lad broke his hurl, he threw the broken bits to the sideline and missed hitting a young supporter by inches. Dangerous. I know Woodbine sometimes you can lose the run of yourself over longwood, but have to say your facilities are some of the best in the county. hootervillian (Meath) - Posts: 309 - 19/06/2009 12:08:20 316904 Link 0 |
if we are just talking playing surface the you can bring Dunganny into the conversation, but the wind! the hill! the facilities!! Maybe in a few years time when its finished. The Trim pitches are great and the facilities are coming along well. You really cant beat a good big dressing room. Ashbourne has the same type of pitch as Dunganny and trim. (Prunty?). Is it my imagination or is there less of a hill in Trim. But at the moment, for the all round package, my vote would have to go to Ratoath. no.23 (Meath) - Posts: 23 - 19/06/2009 12:53:53 316965 Link 0 |
Am not having a go at any club, the joke part of Athboy is the size of the dressing rooms which are not fit to have 15 players in yet alone a panel of 24, thats all i meant. Analyst (Meath) - Posts: 1507 - 19/06/2009 15:36:26 317179 Link 0 |
Re: Analyst Thats a fair back down there analyst first the place is a joke full stop and next you're just not happy with the size of the dressing rooms. In other words you just jumped in with a big statement and nothing to back it up with. It's a wise man that doesn't speak when he has nothing to say. hootervillian (Meath) - Posts: 309 - 19/06/2009 23:08:54 317524 Link 0 |
