Hope its not a mistake starting Wallace, back from a major injury and played midweek.

Anyone know how bad Rooneys injury is?

I am delighted to see Wallace back. I dont think it is too much of a risk as he has played midweek as well as a lot of training. I did hear he was due back last November, but was concentrating on athletics to get back into fitness. As for hte Westmeath game, I believe we will win, however, Westmeath have proven me wrong in the early rounds. I tipped them for the drop but on current form you cant say they will. They will carry a lot of momentum from last Sunday. Having no game last week could work for us as we have got an extra weeks training to right the wrongs of the Kildare game. Saying that, Westmeaths victory over Kildare will leave them in good shape and no doubt they will be looking for some sort of revenge for the Under 21 loss. Meath to win.

I think we have more than enough quality to win.I expect a few positionally changes though,Carroll for Wallace for a start.

Meath 2-13
Westmeath 1-10

Its funny you say that I asked same question 2 weeks ago and got no reply. He has played for club in all league games and word has it looks good.I have heard 2 different stories that he is training with team and doing a lot of flexibility and agility stuff to get sharper and that he will be played full forward this year.
Other story is that he is training a lot on his own with his club

I don't know he was injured and is now playing for Simonstown, but someone did tell me they thought he was dropped from the panel.

He gets far too many injuries and I think he is nowhere near as good as he can be.

Heard 3 different stories, 1 he was injured and is back playing with club and training with county panel. 2 he was injured back playing with club and is dropped from panel, 3 has dropped himself off panel. I have no idea if any of them is accurate or if its something else .

Would not be surprised if he dropped himself off the panel to be honest.

Don't think he's up to the standard. Though I did think the same about me to but he has so far turned out to be one of the best players of the year thus far

Any news on the Harry Rooney injury? Is it bad?

Yeah id be worried about Harry, he really impressed me so far, and while not a nailed on starter yet, certainly has great potential.

The Great Glenny says;
This is a big game for Meath a win will see us will one foot safely staying in Division 2. A loss on the other hand (or foot) will see Meath in a very much different position. Westmeath's win last week will give them confidence as Meath's wasted trip to Roscommon will have done them no good at all. Playing games is all important.
Rooney being out is a massive blow as more than anyone pulled the Kildare game back from the brink, Eamon Wallace will add pace (thats good) and confusion (both to Meath Westmeath and himself) as he mixes the brilliant with the crazy but he will add a bit of athmosphere and excitment to the crowd.

Will the Meath that was so poor in Galway turn up (to be fair we could have been hammered but then again had Newman found the net we could have won) Poor again for 50 minutes v Kildare but this time got the scores and came out on top as Kildare did what Kildare do best..... crumple....

Meath have the "Injun" sign over Westmeath and they also have home venue so To be fair when this Meath team fires on all cylinders they will hammer someone.

They wont hammer Westmeath but can win narrowly

They beat us in 08 i thought, but was that a O'Byrne game? The old memory is fading. Thought it was a league game, previously it would have been half a century ago.
Lets hope our run continues
