Dont see where anyone said Mc Loughlin was up to pace of county football, far superior defender than Mc Keigue, not many got the better of him

You could make a argument for a few lads not on the panel, including Chris O'Connor who is in fine form at min

I don't think he has even played a championship game yet, and you would kinda take it as a given that he should perform in DIV 3, "RoyalDunne" I think you are his number 1 fan

Sorry but you clearly stated he is fine form at the minute in you earlier comment, and I said that he has only played a few Div 3 league games, hardly tough on him and up to Croke Park standard, I personally don't think he is up to scratch. So been from Castledaly you must attend al; Ballinabrackey league games? Find that hard to believe to be honest, Ballinabrackey people love this Hoganstand forum and voicing there opinions, I reckon you "Lutches" brother.

Lads this is daft. He was a great servant but even a few years ago you could see the legs are gone. You can be a great club player in your 40's but county is a different thing altogether. Even if he was good enough to be an impact sub were better off bringing through some of the young talent instead. Our last 3 minors have been excellent and St. Pats of Navan are blooding some brilliant players as well. Look to the future not the past.

Imurdar. I am not living in ballinabrackey got that? So thats first point. Secondly even if i was living there, whats your problem with ballinabrackey?? Peter Moore, jj mccormack Chris O'Connor, Damian Carroll. Have all represented the county at the highest level with commitment that i doubt you ever have. Yes Chris O'Connor is worth his place on panel as is Jamie queeney,
there is more to meath than navan you know. Open your eyes its a large county, bettystown to ballinabrackey ashbourn to oldcastle and everywhere in-between are eligible to play for county. Unless things have changed since i lived there.

Since i lived in MEATH. which is over 17 years ago now apart from a six month stint a few years back,
I do have close relations living around there as I do in bettystown, and few in duleek too. Also would know lots around dunboyne, and fair few friends and old school mates in longwood trim, clonard.
I have never made any comments on clubs within county cause id know very little about them, individual players that catch my eye on the odd chance i do get to mention on hear is different than clubs. Im as happy to see nom, tones, summerhill or whoever to win and do well at leinster level as I would clonard or ballinabrackey or longwood. I dont hold any affiliation to any club within county. That is with my adopted club. One thing that annoyed me within clubs in meath was the politics, you know the name or so and sos son had to be included regardless of talent or lack of it. Too much politics in the 70s and 80s i hope that has changed now.

I agree RoyalDunne.. Politics still plays a huge part in clubs and lots of good talent turn to other things because of this..everyone should be treated equally and not who you know or related to.. It go's on in every walk of life.. As for Niall Mckeigue situation, I think it would be more harmful than good.. Time to give the younger lads a chance, only way to move forward and improve.. Sure it would be the same situation as Gearthys and that didn't end great..

Royaldunne-you can be assurred that the tradition lives on! sons, cousins, etc. and if the manager of an underage team happens to be from a particular club you can be assured that the clubs immediatly around will prosper on the county team. Also look at the history of our county junior team over the last few years is avery good example of local politics. Some guys are elected to run county undere age teams who have contributed very little or nothing to the underage sytem even in their own clubs- that is one of the reasons that the standard of our county team is where it is.

royal dunne u must not look at many of balnabrackeys games cause chris doesnt stand out for them in fact you wouldnt consider him any better than some of the other balnabrackey backs. they played stmichaels last year in the intermediate quarter final i hardly new he was on the pitch only until the last 5 minutes.

I rest my case Royaldunne, if you cant stand out in Intermediate (Like Damien Carroll does) or Div 3 league, then forget about playing county

Lads Chris o connor is useless, not good enough for the county team ;) he has only won a leinster medal with club and county and captain his club to a championship success,as always in meath the same old polotics.just let navan o mahoneys panel line out for meath and forget about the rest.UP THE BRACKS
