Meaths Strongest Possible 15 .....

Personally I'd still prefer Menton and Reilly switch back. Reilly isn't offering enough going forward to warrant taking him out of full back, that's not a condemnation of the guy its just that I think at the moment he's arguably the best full back in the country so why not play him there.

My team would be:

1. Paddy O'Rourke
2. Donal Keogh
3. Brian Menton
4. Davy Dalton
5. Ciaran Lenehan
6. Kevin Reilly
7. Eoghan Harrington
8. Shane O'Rourke
9. Peadar Byrne
10. James Hawkshaw
11. Stephan Bray
12. Graham Reilly
13. Ciaran O'Hanrahan
14. Joe Sheridan
15. Mickey Newman

Theres a number of up and coming players in the underage comps and overseas, that will no doubt be fine Senior players. Namely Hawkshaw and O'Hanrahan who could have been on the minor squad last year had they not been in Australia. They've been very successful down-under both picking up Aussie Rules with ease. Hawkshaw has been scouted in the Sk.Kilda's AFL Academy. Keep an eye out for them when they return.

Sorry lads for me Harrington just isn't doing it at the moment. A great player, but is just too loose

What clubs are they from? Can't say I've heard of them.

I think Joe Sheridan doesn't have it anymore, although he would be a great addition to bring into the team in the last 15 minutes. Also, moynalvey's Anthony Forde should be on the panel in my view, he is different class and would be a crucial player for Meath

Yeh, good team. I think Biggy needs to be at 12 and Carroll 11 though and Id also think Peadar is in contention to be in there. Is it not too soon for Harnan to be in there at corner back? Curran and Young are also good options here. Depending on the opposition K.Reilly and Menton can be swapped.

RolyeDunne to be fair to Eoghan he has been fairly solid all year. Got a complete roasting in the league final but really isn't a corner back at all. He has the hardworking spirit that's vital in championship. Kevin Reilly over menton at full back any day of the week for me as well.

brollysboy - I know well the difference between Kilmainham and Kilmainhamwood, I was just quoting meathsouth97's team and obviously didn't change it because it was a quote.

Mickey Burke must be fit anyway as I see he played for the hurlers against Down in Trim on Saturday. He must not be in Micko's plans as otherwise I cant see him being let join the hurlers. I haven't seen him on the hurling team over the last few weeks so that is why im presuming he's a recent addition.

Royalio11 Dalton is out, as is Harrington. Keogan will be back in from the league final and Kenny could possibly start instead of Dalton maybe? The half forward line will be interesting, I hope Reilly is not at 11 he needs to be on the wing. Byrne, Gilsenan, Carroll and Larkin are all in with a chance for a spot in the half forward line.

This would be the strongest team we have excluding injuries and unavailable players however it would only work with a game plan. Seamus Kenny would come back to help out the defense mostly in front of Mickey Burke and Davy Dalton(both good attackers but not great defensively). Damian Carrol would come out to midfield to deliberately congest it so that our midfielders do not get exposed by the modern day running midfielders such as Rory Kavanagh (donegal), M.D Mc Cauley (dublin) or Cian O'Sullivan (dublin). Wallace would come out further into the half forward line leaving Mickey Newman and Stephen as our two man full forward line. I except this is not attractive football and has never really been done before in Meath but given the way we defend, that forward line would have to do a lot more to win games. Emphasis on fast LONG ball to Mickey and Stephen with Graham Reilley off the shoulder. This would rely on quick ball from Seamus (presumably he would get on a lot of ball as he would almost be a sweeper), Damian who is generally a play maker and Wallace who would have to a lot of work up and down the sideline. If Donnacha Tobin was available he would most definitely be in there more than likely at midfield and Alan Forde would take the place of Wallace as he is that bit stronger.
