Pulls out of tackles...please give me an example of this, in my opinion anytime I have seen him he's looked fearless in the tackle

Spot on. I've never seen Forde pull out of a tackle. I would say he is more of a tough tackler.

If you were Dublin, where would you be targetting Meath? I still think we seem weak when teams attack us in waves from deep, starting with our full forward line not always tracking back. I think man for man in the backs we should be able to match them for most of the game but I just have that fear around loose backs coming forward and us not matching their runs.

yeah i wouldve been afraid of that too but infairness our forwards have gotten much better at tracking back, look at cian ward for instance he spends alot of time near enough the middle getting the ball and against kildare you could see him putting the kildare backs under pressure

At least we have four games under our belts and they only have two. Hopefully this might nullify any advantage the Dubs might normally have, where intensity levels are concerned.

i think banty/evans/giles has put a plan in place to stop these loose backs causing havoc, both meade and gillespie drop into the full/half back line when we don't have the ball, add to that alan forde who always chases his man and graham reilly who has been doing it and farrell and cian ward who have tried i don't think thats the issue

if i was to target meath it would be through mcanarney at CHB

meath have a great chance with a big performance they will give the Dubs a good lash. no injury problems in the camp really and also Paddy Gilsenan is back which could be a massive boost for the Royals

One thing meath are badly missing is a left footed free taker and i wonder will banty bear that in mind when picking the team.with both bray and gilsenan now both fit its just something to think about

rossiesrock i have to laugh at some of your comments such as alan forde pulls out of tackles, it takes bottle to take on lads and draw them into fouling,i for one have never seen him pull out of a tackle and from what i have seen he is one of the hard men on the team . kildare constantly fouled him so rewind the match and look and learn , theres to much of this silly talk and anyone who knows there football will agree with my comments.

Hoopfan i agree, against wicklow he went in hard for 50/50 ball with the biggest man on the field james stafford with ended with stafford getting sent off

Lets see what players will be marking who on Sunday

1. David Gallagher v Steven Cluxton
2. Donal Keoghan v Kevin McMenimin
3. Kevin Reilly v Bernard Brogan
4. Bryan Menton v Eoghan O'Gara
5. Donnacha Tobin v Paul Flynn
6. Shane McEnarney v Bryan Cullen(I would out Mac on Cullen as we need Burkey or Tobin on Alan Brogan)
7. Mickey Burke v Alan Brogan
8. Conor Gilispie v Eamon Fennell( This will be a big test for Conor as Fennell is better than the kildare midfielders were)
9. Graham Reilly v Michael Dara McCauley
10.Alan Forde v James McCarthy
11.Damien Carroll v Cian O'Sullivan/Ger Brennan(It will suit us if Brennan plays rather than O'Sullivan because Brennan is a lot looser than O'Sullivan)
12.Brian Meade v Kevin Nolan
13.Brian Farrell v Michael Fitzsimons
14.Joe Sheridan v Rory O'Carroll
15.Cian Ward v Philly McMahon

*I would have Bray and Peader as impact subs because it leaves us with a strong bench to play, and both of them would make an impact off the bench rather than Brian Meade and Cian Ward coming off the bench.

The idea of leaving Stephen Bray off the field for the likes of Meade, as a so-called "impact sub", is quite frankly, a bad joke. Assuming that Bray is fully fit he is the best footballer in the squad along with Graham Reilly and therefore he must start. We simply can't afford to be stupid enough to leave players like Bray on the bench against Dublin. I would be inclined to put Peader Byrne on from the start, and put Forde or Ward on the bench. Byrne performances this year merit his starting this game and he has the advantage of experiencing big occasions in the past.

yeh you have a point there Meath1986. IF we were 6 points down say for example, what use is Bray on the bench, we can't let Dublin get ahead and we need to keep with them from the start. People will argue we need impact subs, but when you are playing Dublin you cannot let them get too much of a lead and we need our best players on the field from the start to prevent this.

Brian Meade has played well in all the games so far bar the last one vs. Kildare. If Graham Reilly drops into midfield, Brian Meade is lost out on the wing, especially the wide open spaces of Croke Park. Just because certain tactics worked on tighter pitches in Carlow and Tullamore, doesn't mean they will at HQ. I think Brian Meade should play a more central midfield role if he is to play and if it doesn't work out, then you bring in Peadar. Brian Meade hasn't the pace to play out wide. His work rate and stamina are his best attributes (yes he is a bit slow) and so is most effective around centrefield or down the spine of the team.

1 D Gallagher
2 D Keoghan
3 K Reilly
4 B Menton
5 D Tobin
6 S McAnarney
7 M Burke
8 C Gillespie
9 B Meade
10 A Forde
11 D Carroll
12 Biggy
13 B Farrell
14 Joe
15 S Bray

If Brayer is fully fit he has to start but I think Ward will be an able deputy as he has a point to prove and is always on form with when he has something to prove.

I know Keoghan, Tobin, Carroll and Forde were good the last day but this is a Leinster Final and there was far less pressure the last day. I'd be wary whether they can produce that again. If they can then we have a quality set of young footballers but if not we'll need to get more experienced guys like Peader Byrne, JQ, Ward/ Bray and Harro on if we're struggling. I trust Banty to make them decisions seen as had Lenehan off after 20 mins the v Kildare. It was proven to be a good call.
