Christy Ring semi final

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Pistelero, U may be wrong there with your assesment of the draw for the semi's. Wicklow and Down were entitled to home advantage as they had won all there games so far. Meath and London came from the Losers section and so were alweays going to play away in the semi. Meath had already played Down and London and thou I'm open to contradiction couldn't play either of them again in the semi. When I say the 4 teams left on saturday I predicted the same semi line-up as was announced. Gud Luck to the Royals on Sat and Sun.

Diego,I asked a County Board official for clarification and that is what i was told. There was a representative from each County present and the Wicklow rep actually picked Wicklow out first perhaps you could get confirmation from some of your own mentors.

Best of luck to the hurlers, Its been a great year so far. There is no reason why we can't come out on top of this one, Farrell has instilled a great passion in the team and panel and show signs of that never say die attitude our footballers were famous for and are lacking but thats a separate argument. With Meath going well Im really looking forward to the club championship when our stars return. Its about time the hurlers got some more exposure and another final would be perfect and who knows what can be achieved.

Fullback Enda Fitzgerald is from Tipp. Maybe someone can clarify his club.

Thanks Heinoking a lot of lads were brought into Wicklow 4 or 5 years ago and it didnt work,we had gone to the div2 final undefeated with all native lads Laois beat us in Thurles but we were 4 or 5 short due to injury.the manager dropped a load of players the next year and brought players in from all over Ireland and got us relegated to div3b i took Casey O.Brien a Wicklow legend to take over and get us promotion in successive years back to div2.

Tackleberry, Paddy Kennelly is the minor footballer from Dunderry, while Paddy Conneely is the Hurler from Kildalkey, was a minor in 2010 i I think.

Wicklow lead 2-10 to 2-6 at half time but the lads were against the wind and 10 points down at one stage. Referee has ruined the game though as he gave a straight red to Steven Donoghue for a nothing challenge in the fifth minute of one minute of signalled injury time. As soon as he gave the red and Wicklow scored the free, he blew for half time.

Ratoath Red, agree with you. Red was very harsh. As for the injury time, how it went to five minutes (and saw a goal, a point and a red in that time) I don't know.

I cant agree with you on that one Ratoath Royal a full frontal charge leading with the shoulder is a straight red in any game,it left a player lying semi conscious on the ground getting attention for over 3 minutes, the Ref got it spot on,dont forget its 35 minutes a side in Christy Ring Cup.
