Intermediate Hurling Championship

I think Rathmolyn V Clan na Gael will be a very close encounter. A bit too close to call maybe. Both teams very close but Rathmolyn played most recently and will that have a bearing. Wolfe tones v dunderry will be close too. Maybe Wolfe tones shading it but not by much. Hope weather holds out and they are both good games.

Solid win for Rathmolyon tonight. They looked very sharp and won 2-18 to 1-08. I'd imagine this will make them favourites for the final

A couple of points. Athboy were awful and they allowed rathmolyn hurl as they wished. No fight from athboy at all. They won't get that space from Dunderry in the final. That is guaranteed. We will fly at them from the off and they won't know what hit them.

Dunderry will win . . . That's for sure

i have to agree with you loinne!! they were pretty solid against clan na gael and are probably the best hurling team of the three teams remaining.. tones probably the fittest and dunderry will be very hard hitting on saturday/sunday?? when/where what time is that game fixed for ??

SHIVERMETIMBER your almost too confident about dunderry from looking at all your previous posts on this forum!!! i have a niggling doubt that you are not a dunderry man!!! you run the tones down alot on this forum, are u secretly a tones player/selector etc.. karma could bite you pretty hard at the weekend??

Why would I not be confident of our chances on Saturday. I am certainly not or have any connections with the tones, and i hate that going on in this site. I am very confident because I see what is going on in Dunderry first hand. Ill gladly come back on Saturday and prove I am right.

Slightly off topic lads. Davis Cup Hurling? Whats this about. Is it a Feis Cup style knock out tournament?

Athboy hurling really is in a sorry mess if they get a hiding like that in the IHC, Time for a mass clearout.
On another note, pubs should not be allowed sponsor teams.

If Rathmolyon play like they did against Athboy in semi they will destroy Tones or Dunderry. From what I heard problem with Athboy is the squad of players is very small and had to deal with alot of injuries before the Rathmolyon game and the in depth players just not up to it. Saying that, a full Athboy squad wouldnt have beaten Rathmolyon on Saturday, best I have saw them hurl all year and great to see Mick Cole scoring from play and not just only frees.

I was disappointed with Clann na nGael on Saturday but if they had lads out injured it does explain some of the problem. I don't think Fox was playing and he seemed to be doing well for them last year in the SHC.

The Clann na nGael team who finished playing minor last year had always done well in division one coming up through the age groups and they did have a few players involved in the All Ireland Minor winning team last year so they should have some young talent knocking about. Not sure what this years minor team are like but maybe these players will come good in a year or two once they've had more time to develop.

Does any one have an opinion on who will win the intermediate now? I was watching the dunderry v tones game yesterday and having watched it I would say that rathmoylon go into the final as clear favourites. Where is shivermyrimber gone? I Would like his thoughts on the match? Thought dunderry should have won, they threw away a lot of chances.

Well done to wolfetones yesterday in a very physical and aggressive hurling match.. As a neutral I thought it was very exciting and you could see both teams really wanted it. As I predicted tones would be the fitter team and dunderry would be very physical/dirty.. If dunderry concentrated on hurling instead of constant fouling then maybe it could have been closer.. Will be a cracking final ..

I too was at this game as a neutral and have to agree with your assessment. Dunderry should concentrate on the ball and maybe then they would be in a position to collect more silverware.

Well rino, I was expecting this backlash but all credit to Wolfe Tones. Was a great game of hurling and felt at half time that we had the momentum after bringing it back to level pegging from being 4 points down. We felt if we could get on top we would win it outright but we only ever managed to get level and were never ahead. I must give the tones credit, they showed some guts and bottle and anyone who wins a game by 7 points are deserved winners. They will find it hard against Rathmolyn though but will make for a great final. I am not knocking but after seeing Rathmolyn v Athboy I can genuinely only see one winner.

I hope I didnt ruffle too many feathers earlier last week in my posts but was very confident we would do it but there is always next year.

Fair play. I do feel that dunderry are a good team in the making, with some very young talented players. I tend to agree with you about Rathmoylon. They seem on top form at the moment and should win! Does any one know where and when the final is on? will it be in Navan or trim?

I am not too sure as I think the tones being in the semi final of football is causing the county board some headaches!! I think the original fixture was for Sunday 21st and I just hope that the game is in Pairc Tailteann. It deserves to be there.
