if meath and kildare play in the leinster semi it should be put on as a curtain raiser.

Agree, but I think this game is in Newbridge next wednesday evening.

Good idea lads but you cant really fix a game on the basis of two teams beating two other teams, if you get my drift! But this certainly should be looked at if they really want this grade to survive into the future.

On the game itself, Its going to be very tough for our lads to get anything from Newbridge. Hope Im proved wrong,

1189009 Lads, any idea when the Meath Kildare game is set for?

This has proved to be a nonsense post. Counting the chickens before they are hatched.

Why it this a nonsense post? Have I missed something? Are we not due to play Kildare in the next round of the junior championship?

Best of luck tomorrow night it will be tough, few injuries and changes to be made from the last day I suspect.

Can Colm O'Rourke now play for the Meath juniors. Although, how is he playing with Simonstown, I don't ever remember a transfer from Skryne. Perhaps I'm wrong on that one.

good luck tonight lads, disappointed they didn't put this fixture on before either the kildare v offaly or the meath v carlow replay.

i would like to wish the juniors the best of luck tonight ,it is a credit to all involved, hopefully we can get a win over kildare, and show the banty how it is done, because someone needs to give him a wake up call, as he was releived to get a draw with carlow," joke",

Not quiet. Another defeat to a Kildare team.

Great game in Newbridge tonight. Kildare scrape home by a point 0-10 to 0-9. Hard luck to Meath.

Kildare score 1 point in the first half and Meath score 1 point in the second half, unreal stuff.

Was talking to a lad who was at the match last night and he said Meath were very unlucky. 8-1 up at half-time and coasting but the ref gave Kildare a few handy close range frees early in the second half to bring them back into the game and then they got a bit of a run on Meath.

It was unfortunate that both Murtagh and Mc Namara weren't fit to start because of injury and that took a fair bit of sting out of the Meath attack, the use of Damien Carroll for 4 minutes for the seniors against Wicklow was also a major slip-up by the senior selectors as he could of helped to swing it in Meath's favour.

Banty was at the match. He's trying, I'll give him that much.

SeanOg are Kildare looking to poach players away from Syddan now as well?I know the lures of Time Nightclub in Naas might entice many a young man to Kildare but you'll find it hard to get a Syddan man to leave the Newtown Country Club behind!!

I wouldn't agree with that Thunderstruck. To me, the major slip up was not playing him the last day against Carlow as well. You could have stuck him in for Gillespie when it was obvious that things weren't going Gillespies way. We need to have faith in the likes of Carroll and Lenehan - give them game time and stick with them if they struggle.

I agree fearbeag - the Junior is only a feeder team anyway for lads on the fringes or those good enough to play above their club's level of Junior or Intermediate. Carroll is clearly in the Senior management team's thoughts if he was in the 20 used the first day. To be holding players back for a competition clearly dying on it's feet is a ludicrous notion altogether. Plenty of lads there to make up the numbers and represent their county. We're out of the Junior - hardly the end of the world

Fair point lads... and your certainly right when you say Carroll is one for the future and hopefully he will see action against Carlow the next day. But im not sure if he would be fit to mix it in midfield instead of Gillespie at senior intercounty level at the moment.

However I just thought it was a bit of a waste bringing him on against Wicklow when the game was in the bag. He could of played for the juniors against Wicklow and last night against Kildare... the senior team should certainly be the priority within the county but the junior can not be overlooked particulary when you look at where the county is at the moment and how little success we are getting. A win against Kildare last night would have been a much needed boost and a Leinster final in Navan in two weeks against Cavan would have been a real bonus... fair play to all involved with the juniors this year, the lads involved took real pride in representing the county.
