Unfamiliar with most of the team named but just noticed on the subs list.. Justin Carry Lynch? If he is on the Senior Panel surely he is good enough to start for the Juniors? Pity about Damien Carroll, it was absolutely pointless introducing him late on last weekend, tonight would have been the ideal opportunity for him to make an impression. gaelicgab (USA) - Posts: 878 - 30/05/2012 17:20:57 1183901 Link 0 |
Heard McNamara played very well, but i still can't understand why bryan Mc Mahon is on the team? RossiesRock (Meath) - Posts: 369 - 31/05/2012 09:40:45 1184196 Link 0 |
Rossiesrock??. Bryan Mc Mahon is on Meath Junior team because it is a stepping stone for players with the potential to play inter-county senior. Ashrules (Dublin) - Posts: 575 - 31/05/2012 10:43:10 1184240 Link 0 |
Meath seem to be going well. Found myself in Navan at your loss to Longford last year and couldn't believe how poor Meath were. Seem to be taking it a bit more seriously this year. Meath can find out if getting the status of Kildare juniors downgraded was worth your while too. Should be a good game. doublehop (Kildare) - Posts: 4172 - 31/05/2012 11:27:34 1184290 Link 0 |
Bryan is not on the team, he's on the panel. Playing very well at the moment but not as devastating score-wise as he was last Summer. A class footballer though with a great attitude, dedication and application. rath_togh (Meath) - Posts: 740 - 31/05/2012 11:32:05 1184297 Link 0 |
Paudge Geoghegan (Ballivor) and Darragh McNamara (Drumbaragh) were the two stand out performers last night. There were others who had good games also, but its hard to judge against Wicklow as it was a very one sided game. The game against Kildare should separate the men from the boys. tonytookamotor (Meath) - Posts: 139 - 31/05/2012 16:13:14 1184675 Link 0 |
I see the fixtures for the Leinster Junior Football Semi-Finals on the main page Longford v Cavan, Kildare v Meath. Who knocked out the Dubs??? tonytookamotor (Meath) - Posts: 139 - 31/05/2012 16:17:53 1184681 Link 0 |
How did the midfielders do? They must me next in line for seniours you would think, any potential here? tackleberry (Meath) - Posts: 324 - 31/05/2012 16:19:40 1184682 Link 0 |
Phelim O'Reilly (St.Michaels) and Stephen Crosbie (Drumconrath) were the two midfielders. Justin Carry-Lynch (Gael Colmcille) replaced O'Reilly late in the game. The two lads were decent throughout, Justin Carry-Lynch doesn't look fit, especially for midfield. Thought he would be though as surely he's training with the Seniors (as a goalkeeper apparently). tonytookamotor (Meath) - Posts: 139 - 31/05/2012 16:46:22 1184703 Link 0 |
Yea, I would love to know what is the story behinh Justin carry Lynch... He should have been good enough to be goalkeeper or midfielder surely last night, lets all hope Gallagher doesnt get injured! tackleberry (Meath) - Posts: 324 - 31/05/2012 17:23:00 1184732 Link 0 |
tonytookamotor, I was wondering the same thing myself. Who knocked the Dubs out? Did they even take part this year? lilywhite1 (Kildare) - Posts: 3038 - 01/06/2012 12:55:27 1185162 Link 0 |
Dublin and Westmeath pulled out in the last few weeks and with Laois, Carlow and Wexford not entering it is a competition dying on its feet. glenny (Meath) - Posts: 1119 - 01/06/2012 13:07:24 1185173 Link 0 |
I think this years current minor team and last years leinster finalists and 2010 minor team should be the platform for the upcoming meath senior team. i beleive andy mcentte should be given the job of the under 21's while gerry being the senior manager (gerry mcentte). Liam hayes said in a article recently that this meath team needs a manger to remind meath on winning all-irelands and leinsteir and banty dosent do that. so moving onto the players..trevor giles said meath dose not have enough young superstars i dont agree i just think we dont have enough young superstars potrayed. Players like cathal finn should be starting on the under 21's last year also bobby o'brien, conor mcgill, anthony forde , cillian o'sullivian (all be it he is commited to rugby and has another year minor) and this meath minor team 2012 looks promising with players like shane and james mcentee, pauric harnan ruairi o'c adam flanagan barry dardis and few others. if meath want to progress its time we stop saying who but 5 in cluxtons net and get these young players involved with the 21 and senior panel bigflint (Meath) - Posts: 17 - 02/06/2012 17:23:12 1185777 Link 0 |
