so were playing wicklow in the junior at the end of may? why don't they put the game on before the main meath v wicklow game at the end of may, surely a double header would be the best thing to do?

It would be lovely to see this alright, that is what the juniors should be all about. Any word on the team last night?

Juniors played Ashbourne seniors last night, although Im not sure Ashbourne were at full strengt.

Meath Juniors won by 8 or 9 points.

Damian Carroll would have been elegible but he is ruled out because he was introduced for a couple of minutes for the senior team on Sunday...bit of a waste, Justin Carry Lynch would be available but I doubt he would make the team, I cant think of any more off the senior squad who would be available. I think Wicklow can use any player who didnt play for their senior team on Sunday so they will have an advantage, whereas Meath will not be able to pick any player who played senior county or club football last year.

No Senior panelists now only Damien Carroll now not eligible after the silly interduction yesterday and Justin Carry Lynch who was not invited into Juniors. Keeper will be from Na Fianna Geraghty, others will be Rory Maguire, Lynch from Ultans, Gary Coyne Cormac Rowe, Couple of lads from O'Mahonys, Ciaran McConnell, McNamara from Drumbaragh, probaly a few from Moynalvey

Junior squad is looking good enough with a lot of former underage county players; Andy Tormay, Darragh Mc Namara, Davy Murtagh, Shane Crosby, Bryan Mc Mahon, Bobbie O' Brien, Felim O' Reilly, Neil Shortall, Danny Quinn, Shane Geraghty and Rory Maguire.

Dont think damien carroll would agree that it was a waste him coming on to make his senior championship debut, because of the 8 mins injury time he ended up playing at least 10 mins and management would have known that when bringing him in. Anyway as another poster pointed out the junior competition is no addition to meath while we cant field our 2nd team.

good luck to the team tonight, Im sure we will know maybe tomorrow what the panel is, when the game is over!I think supporters in Meath are entitled to know who is on panel if they are paying into watch their county team play. And we wonder why players dont want to play for their county at this level??

I would usually agree with you Takleberry re the Senior team only under Coyle, O'Brien and Banty supporters have had little knowledge as to selected teams but in fairness to Pat Coyle he's only putting the panel and team together 5 or 6 weeks and it (the team) was announced on LMFM at 8:20 this morning.
