It's good but would be underdogs in the final if we make it. Were in 2 leinster semi's now we have to win at least one! I've a feeling it will be this one too :(

Looks like Meath have got the handy route to the Leinster final the past 2 years avoiding Dublin and Kildare

i find that a pretty dubvious comment considering teams can only play whats put in front of them and would also like to know what kildare have achieved at this level ?

I wasn't criticising Meath. I'm just stating that the past 2 years Meath have avoided both Dublin and Kildare and that's why they have reached the Leinster Final.

Last year Meath lost to Louth in the first round, they got back in the Leinster because of that joke of a system then they went on to beat Louth in the Semi-Final. I wouldn't take much pride out of that lads.

Meath v Westmeath in Mulingar I think. That game must be on this weekend? Surely a Meath win and a chance to see the minors in croke park?

it would be great to see the minors win and give us a meath double header on 22nd of july, and there is every chance they should do so as they were impressive against longford in their last outing.

He can't criticise our Seniors so I suppose a dig at the minors is the next best thing for him!

According to reports Westmeath have a goodish minor team. They were never at full strength for the Leinster league games and have an excellent record against their Roscommon counterparts. Don't know what kind of a team Meath put out but Roscommon beat us well in a recent challenge game. Westmeath have home advantage, have Tommy Carr as manager with help coming from Bernard Flynn. That heading in this weeks Chronicle will do Andy McEntee no good at all. A very important game because a win here would guarantee us an All Ireland quarter final spot but dis respect or ignore the Westmeath challenge at our own peril.

I still can have a dig at your senior team, you beat us once out of 5 games! Kildare are still the better team, that's just like saying Chelsea are better than Barcelona because they beat them once!!

Auldfella,

Kildare Minors bet westmeath Minors by 10 points on Sunday morning. Kildare destroyed them.

And from what I hear, Kildare played their second string.

well the kildare and dublin minors would appear to be stronger than the meath minors so this should be a close game. i expect the lads to win surely the fact if they win they will play in front of a very large meath v dublin crowd in croker is enough of a motivational factor. We definitely have a stronger team than last year and we done ok even then.

for the first time this year westmeath are putting out their strongest line up,pound for pound the westmeath players are as good and possibly better than meaths, the set up in westmeath has not been particularly good,no doubt we got a lucky draw to get this far but now the players are starting to get a bit of focus due to playing in croke park on leinster final day, there is no doubting the quality in the westmeath squad,in mullingar we would expect to win this and should do

I still expect Meath to win this game. But will lose to Kildare/Dublin in the final.
