good performance were up by 5 with about five mins to go,longford pulled 2 back but meath looked the better team over all.players to impress were 7.rory 0 coileain,10.cillian o sullivan,11.patrick kennelly and fullforward eamon wallace.cillian o sullivan at wing forward looks the real deal classy, fast and very good feet real burst of pace when required.wallace not a bad prospect either. royalwarrior (Meath) - Posts: 33 - 14/04/2012 19:45:52 1151901 Link 0 |
A very good sign that, while playing quite average by their standards, they ground out a win down in Pearse Park. This team is capable of much much more though. shldrs2thewheel (Meath) - Posts: 200 - 14/04/2012 20:18:26 1151934 Link 0 |
Well one today lads not much between the 2 teams ye were more clinical and a few bad refereeing decisions swung your way on the day.. have to agree 10 was very impressive in the second half kicked some beautiful scores but was not very prominent in the first.. on_your_bike (Longford) - Posts: 55 - 14/04/2012 20:40:57 1151954 Link 0 |
thought brian power (3) & shane mcentee (6) had decent games looked comfortable on the ball. the team has a strong spine 3,6,8,9,11,14 all good footballers. hopefully get better as the year goes on royal69er (Meath) - Posts: 96 - 14/04/2012 22:02:43 1152072 Link 0 |
Poor display by Meath suppose after hammering Longford a few weeks back it was always going to be different. Strange placement of a number of players with our full backs under big pressure. Meath will win very little as we do not have enough ball winners up front. Dubs offaly and Kildare are put up massive scores so if we draw any of them we be in trouble on yesterdays display glenny (Meath) - Posts: 1119 - 15/04/2012 10:03:48 1152099 Link 0 |
no boyne players with the acception of a past pupil coogan, on the panel, robbie burke, james andrews, stefan kelly all should of made the final 24 sticksandstones (Meath) - Posts: 55 - 15/04/2012 13:02:53 1152203 Link 0 |
Let us not forget that Longford are not minnows at underage level anymore, especially where Meath are concerned. This was a good result lads and the lads should be proud of themselves at a time when Meath's confidence at Senior and U21 is awfully low rath_togh (Meath) - Posts: 740 - 15/04/2012 13:42:24 1152232 Link 0 |
Very happy with the result, it may 'only' be a leinster minor victory but it's nice to get a win with all the trouble that's been going on within the county of late. Htaem (Meath) - Posts: 8657 - 15/04/2012 14:16:39 1152260 Link 0 |

Believe they play Offaly in Tullamore on 19th, not an easy one. RoyalRooney (Meath) - Posts: 50 - 08/05/2012 11:30:56 1167630 Link 0 |

As far as I can recall, winners of Offaly/Meath paly winners of Wicklow/Westmeath in S/F - they certainly avoid Dubs. RoyalRooney (Meath) - Posts: 50 - 12/05/2012 21:26:42 1170922 Link 0 |

Best of luck to the lads. Win this and they face either Wicklow or Westmeath in the semi. Huge game tomorrow. They really should be aiming for a Leinster final spot and that guarantees them a place in the all-ire semi. BettystownRoyal (Meath) - Posts: 3353 - 18/05/2012 21:10:14 1175593 Link 0 |
