"String Meath minor team most of team is made up of st pats players !!!"

Oh dear, looks like the current manager hasn't learned from the lessons of his predecessor.....!

As the old saying goes, 'those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it....'

Told Meath beat Longford by 1-16 to 0-8. Playing Dublin in the final.

i dont see what your problem with st pats is ?
a couple of weeks before the championship they drew in a challenge with st michaels of enniskillen and there now in the hogan cup final ..
and also with the minors doing so well it seems the team is being picked correctly .

I've nothing against Pats and with our massive population there should be more than them playing at this level. What I wouldn't be getting too excited about is Meath going well in the Leinster Minor League..... they always do! The proof will be in the championship I hope they have a good run.

By the way last year's team did fairly well considering they were in existence at the same time as Dublin, who despite not winning the All-Ireland, will probably prove in time to provide more Dublin seniors than any team in the last 20 years. Didn't agree with everything Dalton & Co. did but they should be proud enough of how they did & how they recovered from Louth and Dublin defeats.

They didn't really recover from the Dublin defeat last year, they lost the next game too.

Hopefully no one!!!!!! - Even if it improved the fortunes of the county team? Small minded at best!

It's better to be small minded than big headed, at least we can get the ball down to our feet!!!!!

As it stands I would be of the opinion that the 2 Ratoath lads on the panel are probably as good as we as a (apparently bigheaded) club are going to do. Despite any rivalry, past spats etc I may have had with neighbouring clubs in the past I would have no problem with the minor management picking an extra player or 2 from them if the players were in form to be picked or if the panel had been weakened by injury or the like. Northmen, Southmen Meathmen all......

That's not being bigheaded, that's just wishing and hoping the very best for the County team. I feel the very same about any player from any club who answers the call and does the job set out for them by management. Geography, school, club or politics shouldn't come into how you'd like a county panel picked.

Now will you explain to me why Ratoath lads can't get the ball down to their feet or will I explain gravity to you?

Granted but they gave a good enough account of themselves and Tipp are now All-Ireland champions

Good comeback! I can see how it took you 2 days to come up with that.
I've already stated to you Wallace and Power are the only Ratoath players I would select on the panel do you want me to give you a hug too?

How many Rathoath lads who featured on county minor panels have made it through to play senior football for Meath in the last 20 years??????

Sorry Rossie was on the evening shift.
In the past 20 years the only minors we had were:

1994 Graham Clarke (sub)
1995 Conor O'Donoghue
1996 Conor O'Donoghue
1997 Nigel Crawford
2002 Ger McCullagh
2003 Robbie Madden
2008 Stephen O'Brien
2009 Emmet Boyle
2010 Conor McCill, Farrell McMaunus were on the team while P Haslam, B O'Brien, C O'Brien, B McMahon were subs
2011 Conor McGill, Bobby O'Brien & Bryan McMahon were on the team while Eamon Wallace & Mark Daly were brought into the panel late in the Summer because of club form and because others were injured or not performing.

Given that only 11 Ratoath lads made the minor TEAM in the past 20 years - info requested by you - that 1 of them made the Meath Seniors isn't bad. Especially when you consider that 6 of them are aged 22 or under.

Your point being is going to be very interesting, especially when there have been whole minor teams in the past where NO player progressed to senior.

Did Nigel Crawford not play for St.Peters Dunboyne????

Both Crawford and O'Donoghue are Ratoath men. They've only ever played adult football for Dunboyne

No Crawford played all his underage with Ratoath and then transferred to Dunboyne

Is this line of questioning actually going anywhere? Are you going to come to some sort of an enlightened conclusion as to why Ratoath people are bigheaded? Or do you just like pressing the question mark key 4 times after every question?
