Exactly the point I'm making.
The last 4 managers have been using the same core of the panel for a very obvious reason. It's the best of what's there. To add to the Banty is giving lads like menton, lenihan, Gilsenan, osullivan and other YOUNG players the chance.
What more to people want?
Anyone who believes that there are 30 cometary different lads to what's on the panel floating around Neath and capable of leinsters and all Ireland's then they are dillusional.

Exactly there maybe the odd change on the panel with different managers,but I often see people saying we need to get rid of the likes of Sheridan etc,I mean get a grip,and he has tried with the midfield,O'Rourke was a very good switch...

Agree we just don't have the players coming through. Doesn't appear as we have left many stars out. So management must play to strengths they have. And hopefully it works.

As I prepare to leave and head for navan I am more optimistic so I'm going to revise my prediction

Meath 1-14 monaghan 2- 07

A solid start to campaign and proof that we are on way back in a big way

jinxie/ziggy!!! do you's not think there are no players out there in meath that are better than whats on the panel?? is mark ward the best mid fielder in meath? far from it!! is chris o connor the best corner back in meath? is brian meade one of the best half forwards in meath?? instead of playing meade as a third midfielder..just play him midfield..gillesbie and ward are not mobile enough!! its so obvious!

i would have liked to see trial games this year, a few of the best players from every club competing against each other the way boylan use to do it.. mickey newman and chris berrigan playing against queens and are they near/on the panel?.. the current panel is made up of the same players also apart from 5 or 6 he brought in..
banty came in last yr and brought a few skyrne players in that was it really!!

Your point about chris oconnor I think was blown out of water tonight. On basis of that performance would be hard to find a better one just cause he from a small club does not mean they not good. Also other players that you mentioned performed ok at min. Sure there needs to be improvements but on whole we prob have 15 out of 20 of best players in county on panel, others may come in at some stage during year
