This can be used as a query regarding as to why on the Meath Hoganstand web page that in almost all Meath match reports there seems to be only one team playing
Why can the players from both teams not get a mention

The reason is because the club secretary or somebody from one club writes up the report and sends them into the hoganstand. This person probably doesn't know many of the players from the opposition team and it's usually the winning club that bothers to write up the report and send it in. It's not like hoganstand are sending neutral reporters to every league game in the county to get an impartial report. They are still far better than nothing!

Who are the standout teams after the first 2 rounds in peoples opinions? My pick would be Ashbourne and maybe Dunboyne.

"Moynalvey in good form.. Well deserved win in the league today"

They are the only Senior team in div3,
they were playing a Junior team
If you were really at the game you wouldn't have posted what you did because every Moynalvey player and backroom to a man were mortified as to how the game ended and admitted as much when they spent a few hours with us in clubhouse afterwards.

Don't get me wrong they were missing some great players on Friday night but if you think beating a Junior team in a division 3 league game by 1 point with 3/4 Sluddenesque decisions in the dying minutes to get them over the line is worthy of mention as 'form' in a thread on SFC, you must get disappointed often!

Clearly Royal09 haha

You got me by the short and curlies there. Game has me in the dog house with 1st night of weekend away cancelled, followed by the hangover I had all day Saturday from the post-mortem in the clubhouse after. Its still haunting me.

Have to comment on how sporting and upstanding the Moynalvey report on their website is regarding Friday's game and would like to thank them for same. Barney and co could have taken a leaf out of their book in 2010 in calling a spade a spade. Ultimate Gaels!

While I've heard that the referee was technically correct in his decision on Friday, I've never in my life seen such a decision made in a GAA game and would never want to again. If every referee gave a penalty decision like that, there would be penalties given every time a 14 yard free is taken. Look at the last moments of the Down - Kildare game in 2010. If the referee applied the same logic there, Kildare would have gotten a penalty before the last free was taken.

the referee was correct , he did warn the players before the free was taken, we all saw that, and we complain when the referees, dont implement the rules make up your mind what do you want, or is just sour grapes that moynalvey won??

The matter's over, Ratoath as I understand it have no intention of appealing decision. We're not happy about it but we're not the first or the last to be on the receiving end of bad decisions. I would imagine that Ratoath will object to playing anymore games he officiates as something similar happened with him in a hurling match earlier this year.

Could someone tell me what happened for this free? And what happened to the referee going out to his car afterwards? Thanks

What actually happened? From reading between the lines here it seems the ref changed from a 14 yard free to a pen, for either dissent or players not allowing a quick free or something like that?

Was it right at the end of the game?
