Ashbourne aren't out until this Friday.

It's hard to know why Conor hasn't brought this form to county level because he has it all for a midfielder. Height and build, great hands, good distribution and very mobile. Some players are destined to be excellent club players and just never make it on the county scene and Conor may be one.

S. Kenny has been getting away with it because he is Meath captain this year. Refs in Meath as Meath supporters themselves dont want to get him suspended.
Anyway nothing to note from that game, but Summerhill in the second game yesterday will be the team to beat again, and I dont see anyone getting the better of them for another couple of years either. Outstanding team. You could pick 6 or 7 of them and put them straight onto the Meath team instead of whats there now!! Certainly ahead of the NOM brigade that have been offering so little!

Oldcastle were truly terrible Saturday evening, a team who never performed and appeared clueless. The sheer physical strenght and movement of NOM was
awesome to watch, and they appeared to have an extra man whenever they needed it. Oldcastle will be licking some deep wounds at training come Tuesday night and an if a meeting is held, an open and frank discussion will be had. They will be dissapointed with their display, as none of the usual inspirational players got into the game at all. During the course of the game Oldcastle failed to win any possession at midfield, with NOM dominant on the breaking ball. Again, the physical strenght and hungar of NOM blew Oldcastle away. Even if Oldcaslte were on form and produced their A game, it would'nt have been enough. NOM closed down Oldcastle deep in their own half when attempting to come out with the ball, something Oldcastle prided themselves on when winning the Intermediate back in 2009!
Oldcastle will struggle to get out of this group based on this performance, but they can do so much better, and I would expect them to do so. As for NOM, they will be hard stopped considering the panel they have. The hunger they showed may have had something to do with lads who were missing, others were anxious to show their wears. Oldcastle badly missed Gilsenan and Farrelly, but it wasn't in that half of the field the problems lay.

Yes absolutely! I've yet to see Don/Ash produce anything special and they are always being highlighted as favourites for reasons unknown. I think Moynalvey to win by 2-3 points.

Incouraging signs for Moynalvey last nite. It was a great game of fast moving football from both sides. D/A forwards were very jinky and quick Especially 14. Some question marks over the Goal could have been a square ball. In the end D/A were slightly the better team but Moynalvey could have won if they converted some more of their chances.

Not bad from Moynalvey. They should pick up points against Nobber next weekend, then St Pats and Duleek Bellewstown. Ashbourne and Summerhill should decide who finishes top of group A. Looks to be the big game of the SFC next weekend.

Friday April 27
Moynalvey v Nobber Moynalvey
Summerhill v Donaghmore/Ashbourne Summerhill
Oldcastle v Blackhall Gaels Draw
Sat April 28

Walterstown v St.Peter's Dunboyne St.Peter's Dunboyne
Dunshaughlin v Skryne Dunshaughlin
Sun April 29

Seneschalstown had a great win against a very determined blackhall gaels side. I think that blackhall gaels are under rated

Anybody at the blackhall and seneschalstown game? Reports are the furze side very impressive playing different than long ball in! Brosnan disappointing for the Gaels?

Yeah I was at that match. I don't think Brosnan got a touch of the ball. Blackhall were poor and senchalstown weren't much better. Dalton did a good job on brian sheridan.

Yes was at the Sench/ Blackhall game. There was some good passages of play at times and some really excellent scores mixed in with the bad as well. Donacha Tobin certainly didn't look like the player he has been for Meath and several times particularily in the first half kicked the ball over the sideline while trying to pick out a player. Blackhall brought the corner forward back to stand in front of Brian Sheridan and it backfired a bit in the end it was his man who got the sench goal. Blackhall's No10 (Whelan I think) looks a classy player who could score from Play and frees (off the ground). Sench picked their team to do specific jobs and this worked out well. It looked like their manager Dermot Smith had done his homework on Blackhall before the game. Early in the game there was some confusion in the Sench rearguard where on a couple of occasions Blackhall inexplicably took the wrong options particlarily where they had 4 on 2 suituations and just got a single point. Overall enojoyable enough game in which the ref did his best to spoil at times.
