Have to agree Header 33 by saying that the standard has dropped and thats why summerhill won the championship is ridiculous, any team is entitled to mature and improve over a couple of years. If you were to take that logic then there would never be any change at the top johnsee (Meath) - Posts: 389 - 21/10/2012 10:02:30 1286093 Link 0 |

those are fake arms!!what u talkin bout stonewall??i heard two players got hurt Sunday one an elbow and one an ankle injury!!i know Stephen bray is very doubtful hasn't done anything since the Ashbourne game and prob won't feature Sunday but NOM have a number of options to replace him 50shadesofGAA (Meath) - Posts: 63 - 23/10/2012 13:44:07 1287028 Link 0 |
Bray played in a full training match on sunday. Spoke to a lady who works in a bookies and she told me a lot of hefty bets placed on NOM before semi, hence the 2/5 price. Interesting to see will the hot favs tag weigh too heavily on the o mahoneys again. They seem to be a lot more defensive under Nelson than in recent years that may not suit them if they were to go behind early in the game. johnsee (Meath) - Posts: 389 - 24/10/2012 12:22:53 1287481 Link 0 |
johnsee your comment makes no sense "o mahonys are more defensive this year so might not suit them when they go behind early in the game" 50shadesofGAA (Meath) - Posts: 63 - 24/10/2012 13:18:27 1287536 Link 0 |
What kind of statement is that from the lad above me? You have obviously never seen the Tones play if you think they're a one man team and i think they showed that in the semi final with the likes of Corrigan, Sheppard,Brady and the two Mcloughlins playing well along with Ward. meath881988 (Meath) - Posts: 45 - 24/10/2012 14:12:00 1287574 Link 0 |
it's not a statement it's a fact!ive been watching tones for years years I tell u and all they have is ward when he's not playing they are average at best!!i guarentee if tones lose Sunday cian ward wil have scores sweet FA = one man team 50shadesofGAA (Meath) - Posts: 63 - 24/10/2012 15:57:08 1287661 Link 0 |
Tones won the A league in 2009 and that would have been without ward due to county involvement, beat Pats and he didn't score this year. Remember that apart from their 2006 Senior championship Tones have been winning up until last couple of years all before them, A leagues, B Leagues, Junior championships etc, We'll see Sunday how O mahoney's handle Ward, in 2006 and 2009 they went for heavy handed tactics and they didn't work..... analyst you are not much of an analyst!!in 2009 the league didnt finish til a week before Xmas Meath were beaten in August!!there was 4/5 rounds at least stil to play!! 50shadesofGAA (Meath) - Posts: 63 - 24/10/2012 16:07:09 1287679 Link 0 |
I just deducted 0-00 from 0-11 and believe it or not they still beat the Pats Analyst (Meath) - Posts: 1508 - 24/10/2012 16:12:23 1287685 Link 0 |
Ward was kept very quiet against senchalstown in the 09 final and even kicked the frees poorly that day as well if i remember correctly?? Although I think he almost won the game for them in the dying seconds only for lyons tipped the ball around the posts?? Personally i would be worried for the tones based on the fact that ward had a very good semi-final which with his level of inconsistancy may be bad news for the final! pigonastick (Dublin) - Posts: 487 - 24/10/2012 16:15:39 1287688 Link 0 |
By the way Meath exited to Kerry on the 30th August and at that stage all League matches were complete for Tones, so your ill informed guess at 4/5 rounds is as off the mark as your posts Analyst (Meath) - Posts: 1508 - 24/10/2012 16:21:38 1287694 Link 0 |
Yeah he had a poor replay missing penalty and a few frees, it was Beggy that nearly got the goal at the end, Even ward at 50 % will be too much for a poor O mahoney's defence i think drona (Meath) - Posts: 135 - 24/10/2012 16:23:39 1287697 Link 0 |
Sorry drona i thought it was ward! I have my doubts though I have to say i am glad i am not a tones or meath fan when it comes to wardy when he is good he is very good but when he is bad it must be soul destroying and unfortunately if he doesn't do it sunday the tones may just for get about it because as much as people on here can argue that they are not a 1 man team look at the percentage of the scores he picked up in the semi final when people on here claim the whole team played well! pigonastick (Dublin) - Posts: 487 - 24/10/2012 16:41:41 1287716 Link 0 |
poor o mahonys defence!?!?one goal conceded in championship this year yeah that's horrendous alri!! 50shadesofGAA (Meath) - Posts: 63 - 24/10/2012 16:49:59 1287721 Link 0 |
Fact is Tones have not played well all year but are still in final....that would not have happened in years gone by hence my argument re standard of Meath football drona (Meath) - Posts: 135 - 24/10/2012 16:51:46 1287722 Link 0 |
Sorry 50shades, they have proven themselves against lethal attacks such as Rathkenny, Oldcastle, Blackhall gaels........i stand corrected.........anyone who was in navan for semi final knows that but for Don /Ash lack of composure it is they who would be in final, the better side lost, a point not lost on Davy Nelson either. Far better O Mahoney's teams than this one have been over hyped and beaten so don't get carried away Analyst (Meath) - Posts: 1508 - 24/10/2012 17:11:27 1287736 Link 0 |
Fifty shades you are beginning to sound like the louth supporters who come on here and try to stir the shit. If your attitude about cian ward is a reflection of how the o mahoneys are thinking then they are obviously extremely nervous about him. If they make the mistake of concentrating most of their defensive effort in trying to curtail him then the tones have plenty of other outlets to get scores in. I saw the pats match and if somebody told you going in the gate that cian ward wouldnt get a score well then you would have said the pats should win, yet the tones won comfortably by 6 pts. Drona cant speak for all the tones performances but thought they played very well against senschelstown johnsee (Meath) - Posts: 389 - 24/10/2012 19:56:50 1287836 Link 0 |
