there's so many teams now in senior which haven't a dogs chance of competing - can't be good for competiveness, team interest, crowds and senior county team to have a "flat" unpassionate championship. We shoudl be increasing the teams in intermediate. Yes its a lottry but lets call a spade a spade the standard isn't good. What have we done in Leinster - nothing ! Moynalvey - impressive and deservedwinners this year losing to a team from Louth that were heading nowhere 2 years ago but to junior. With all due respect to my neighbours in Louth but our club teams should be dominating theirs.

Seasiderblues you are 100% correct, 18 teams in Senior is a disaster for everyone, the 6 teams or so that have a realistic shout of winning it play one sided uncompetitive matches which are of no use to either team. As a spectator these matches are depressing. Any team needs to be competitive at their grade which gives all players and supporters a buzz and a lift. On another backward step in the league this year with no relegation it is very likely that from round 4 on most teams will have lost all interest and there will be a lot of W/O and second strings which again is a joke...

Seneschalstown are shaping up well with the new manager this year although it will be hard to beat damien as coach. I think seneschalstown and don/ash in the final. Jus my opinion

Hard to decide a winner but i think it will be between o'mahonys, wolfe tones, seneschalstown or summerhill.

analyst, brave statement, 3 of last 5 finals and there yesterday men. Ashbourne could be called nearly men or bottlers if ya think about it. Id fear the so called yesterday men each and every time. fancy our chances against ashbourne every time. No offence to ashbourne just cant believe you would call yourself the analyst and come out with a statement like that.

I stand by it as regards potential winners, have done exceptionally well over the past few years with what i believe are footballers who were not as good as other teams but still achieved success, had a lot of luck on their side in 09, and despite being poor all year got to within a point of retaining in 2010, they do not have the players to compete with the best in meath anymore, time will tell if i'm right

No dont think so, standard in meath has dropped alarmingly since even 09, as is evident by a poor by comparison Summerhill team to the one that got hammered in 08 final beating another poor Dunshaughlin side compared to a few years back, Championship is more open than it has been for years as the top teams have all gone back but for football ability, Don Ash, Tones, and i think Pats could be surprise packets this term are out in front, the hoops on brews hill have fallen further back than most by the way
