Interesting pairing alright , Was at the Dunboyne game yesterday and there is no thought at all about them throwing the game . dnewlad (Meath) - Posts: 137 - 10/09/2012 09:42:05 1262882 Link 0 |
Why should there be any need for a game on the 30th. If the County board have any respect for the paying public, which the patently have not, they will play these games on Friday and Saturday night. Patrons are entitled to sit down and watch the hurling final without having to rush home from a club match for it. Playing matches yesterday with very little time between their finish and the throw in for the first match was a disgrace. Thank God no-one was hurt rusting home for it. No thanks to the County Board who orchestrated the whole fixture pile-up. The real Árd Rí (Meath) - Posts: 990 - 10/09/2012 09:56:20 1262891 Link 0 |
Interesting Pairings for Quarters. fencesitter (Meath) - Posts: 27 - 10/09/2012 10:45:58 1262953 Link 0 |
quite right ard ri 12 noon is a ridiculous time for championship matches if there is a senior quarter final to be played that day then it should be at seven in parc tailteann with the lights there it should be no problem. You could have one on friday evening a double header on sat and one sunday evening. johnsee (Meath) - Posts: 389 - 10/09/2012 10:49:17 1262960 Link 0 |

Ziggy, saw him saturday night against Seneschalstown. Did ok at wing forward but you wouldn't have picked him out as county potential on saturday's performance but he is still in the early stages of his comeback. O'Mahony's number 15 Sean Keating looked very good all through and Alan Forde had a very good first half in particular. Gerry Sheridan who marked Stephen Bray very well and Andrew Collins looked good at the back for Seneschalstown in what was a dour game overall lit up by the odd moment of decent play. Why should teams b expected 2 play there 1/4 finals on Friday and saturday under lights games should b in day light Header33 (Meath) - Posts: 233 - 10/09/2012 18:53:59 1263568 Link 0 |
Header I don't agree. The final replay between Wolfe Tones and Seneschalstown in '09 under lights was a cracking game with a very good atmosphere under lights. jackhackett (Meath) - Posts: 773 - 10/09/2012 19:33:58 1263606 Link 0 |
Surely the county board should set the fixture dates for the upcoming various senior, inter and junior championship games . Players have lives outside of football and its not unreasonable that this information should be given now. I cant see any reason for a delay. Fixtures. jake1 (Meath) - Posts: 268 - 12/09/2012 15:14:15 1264924 Link 0 |
Have to agree Jake the venues are a joke, cortown for a quarter final of an intermediate is ridiculous, Trim is the obvious venue for that one, and surely castletown and ballinlough should be in kells instead of moynalty and why is pats and the tones in ashbourne and parc tailteann idle. and then they will complain that attendances are down. johnsee (Meath) - Posts: 389 - 12/09/2012 15:48:04 1264992 Link 0 |
Are the fixtures committee trying to keep the tones out of pairc tailteann this year,as they have had no fixtures their yet. jake1 (Meath) - Posts: 268 - 12/09/2012 18:16:13 1265134 Link 0 |
Yeah that's right sam1996, the final is fixed for Friday the 26th of October! JoeyEssex (Meath) - Posts: 11 - 12/09/2012 21:16:24 1265286 Link 0 |
26th Oct???? thats a Friday night is that m mistake? personally I think it's a great idea. anyone who has played a big game under lights wit a big crowd will tell u the atmosphere is great at a night game. and on a sidenote it'll give the winning team a good few days to celebrate their win instead having to go back to work on the Tuesday or the Wednesday. the Monday is a bank holiday by yer way awol67 (Meath) - Posts: 125 - 13/09/2012 09:43:04 1265370 Link 0 |
