what about Simonstowns chances this year? tough group but seem to be motoring well in the league without sham or rourkey (granted it is div 2) but still, good bunch of young fellas that have a couple of years senior experience behind them at this stage. We all know they're history for big games at the latter stages but could this year be the year? Meath SFC is always full of surprises and the best team does not necessarily win every year.

Interesting weekend coming up for Simonstown will give a better idea of their chances in both Senior and Junior grades. Any news on Summerhill v Monalvey game played in Dunsany tonight?

What do people think of standard of football in senior this year? Was at the rathkenny and blackhall gaels game and it was really bad I taught, I would of mistaken it for nearly junior b or c easily. Haven't seen alot of matchs this term but have they all been this bad?

just met a lad in navan and he told me that none of the meath minors will be allowed play championship this weekend cuz of the minor semi the following weekend. can anyone confirm if this is true or false? just of the top my head that would mean moynalvey would be without 3 of there best players for this weekend. tones would be without f ward and I'd imagine a lot of inter and junior would be forced to play crucial championship games without their best players.

not true all minors will be playing at the weekend, games that affect minors are brought forward to suit at the weekend, check fixtures,

Baker, Unfortunatley your post is incorrect. The Meath Minor panel have been told that they are not to do ANYTHING with their clubs for the next two weeks. They have training tonight, Wednesday and Friday this week. This is the right decision to have 2 weeks with panel. There are enough posts here regarding failings of underage teams so we need to support them now.

It is up to the county board to change fixtures if needed and if not then it is up to the clubs to fight for their players to be available to them.

Good game for Summerhill

Summerhill looked good yesterday, faster, stronger & controlled the game from 15min in. Well done.

I think it's right their not gonna be playing this weekend but also it would be extremely unfair on the clubs to be expected to play crucial championship matches without them. I think the only fairoption would be for any of the games that involve clubs who will be missing players because of this should be postponed until .a further date. even if it means the championship final being put back a week or so

Summerhill just a different class to moynalvey forwards to hot 4 moynalveys backs, totally dominated midfield wouldn't read to much in2 it moynalvey very poor team

Summerhill looked good. Still only bet Moynalvey though. Not long since ASHbourne defeated them. Sean Dalton, Adrian Kenny and David Larkin played very well. The two sullivans were top class aswell. 10 EURO IN was very steep.

Does anyone else think that Sean Dalton could make an intercounty corner-back? Realistically he wouldn't oust any of the current scoring forwards from the first XV but as a ball-winner and someone who looks a very tidy footballer he wouldn't look out of place around a full-back line. Wouldn't be the first time a forward from Summerhill was converted into a top defender.
