is there many of the minors starting for the clubs at senior level? just wondering will them being in the semi delay the championship? obviously not this weekend but my understanding is there's championship the weekend of the 17th as well which would be a week before they play in the semi so I doubt the manager is gonna want any of hops team playing championship so soon before that game. as far as I no there's a rule stopping championship being dpostponed for the minors but surely everyone in the county wants them to have the best possible preparation for this game so maybe the rules could bent on this occasion. I no young ward starts for tones but not sure about any of the rest of them. thoughts people????

Its laughable how people think no club football championship should be played for weeks on end because of a couple of players but its no problem to throw club players out week after week once county is finished. Much more important to have your adult championships back up and running on a regular basis.

I'm just wondering what will happen wit ward of tones for instance? he's started every championship game so far so will they play him or will they be forced to leave him out cuz of the minor game the following week? has the minor manager got the power to stop him playing? pretty unfair on tones if there expected to play without him.

there are other players on that team with intermediate and junior clubs who are affected as well probably even more so than the senior ones. I think the rule is the other way round actually its the clubs who make their players available to the county

sorry johnsee when I said senior I actually meant adult as in all grades senior inter junior. so I'm askin is there many of the minors starting for the adult teams and what would be the deal if there was championship the week before the semi. can they play or would they be pulled? it would be unfair on any team senior inter or junior to be expected to play championship without these lads???

I am pretty sure most of them are playing on their adult club team, unless you agree to it then you cant be fixed to play championship without any player because of inter county fixtures so it will be the co.boards call as to whether to go ahead with that round or not. But with the championship behind schedule already and hurling to get through as well it will lead to a fair mess if they call it off.

I'm split right down the middle on this one johnsee. on the 1 hand as u said the championship is way behind and we need to get the finger out and get in played. but on the other hand it would be very harsh to expect these lads to play adult championship and risk injury and miss out on wat is the biggest game of there life so far and for a lot of them will prob be the biggest they'll ever play. if u were makin the call wat would u do

I see your point but if they win what happens after that ? unless they throw in another hurling round and get as much of that out the way as possible.

Lads, Clubs with players on the Meath Minor squad who also play at adult level for these clubs will have to play upcoming championship matches without these players as adult club championship cannot be held up for minors.

Ah let the lads play away sure its only a chance to get into an All Ireland Final. County Board dont give a hoot. My God its only August and most Counties are not even as far as having 3 rounds of Championship played as Meath will have at the weekend.

Talk about structures as we all know underage in Meath is a nuisance to the Adult board and is barely tolerated.

Its a blooming joke that most of the Minor panel will have to play 2 adult games and a few days later be expected to line out in Croke Park and do there county proud.

Hang your heads in shame those who are responsible for this decision, Old men in suits who want a clap on the back that they have all the games played come hell or high water. Remember a kick in the ass is not that far away from the good ole boys clap.

What would be wrong with playing a round of A League that competition has to be played too.

Talking about fixtures.I see that Tones Seniors are playing Dunboyne in Dunderry at 18-45 and Tones Jun B's are playing Senchelstown in Castletown at 19-00.Both games are on the 17/08/2012 and the tones seniors would have subs who would be on the b's.Time to wake up and live in the real world.Anyone who has a job how can they be in both places at the same time.

Just checked the co. board website jake and that fixture is up on it as well I presume its a mistake its not possible for a club to play two championship fixtures at the same time at two different venues although this fixture committee doesnt seem to have much understanding of whats involved in running teams.
