looking at omahonys result have to say its disappointing, also beaten by simonstown last friday. not sure if the panel is at full strenght but signs are not good for the championship.

Stop doing the club a dis-service publishing facts that are totally untrue. Ratoath won the minor league in 2009 and 2010, so we must have placed some value in it. The only reason we did so badly in it last year and then won the championship was that Conor McGill, Bryan McMahon & eventually Collie McCullagh made recoveries from injury on time. Without these players Ratoath made no inroads in the league and wouldn't have won the championship without them.

Well done Gaeil Colmcille on a game you won fair and square. No excuses here!

Was the Simonstown, Omahonys game in the league or was just for The Seamus Heaney Cup?

parneller, that is a stupid statement o'mahonys were bet by a stronger simonstown team on the night and they played badly against dunboyne when only duggie dillon eamonn ferris and robbie keelaghan scored all game but they have a strong team and with two wins and one defeat in the league they are still looking strong

As I neutral I was at the Kells Tatoath game and I must say that Ratoath were lucky not to be bet by more. Minor footballer Oisin Reilly was very impressive. Ratoath can't just step up like that in the two competitions like they have done last year as rath_togh said they just got lucky last year with ConorMcGill Bryan McMahon & eventually Collie McCullagh making recoveries from injury on time.

meathman94 I was only stating the fact simonstown did beat omahonys and the dunboyne result was disappointing, you say yourself they played badly against dunboyne and only had 3 players score in the game , one is a defender and the freetaker got 2 points. i dont know who has to come into the team but its alarming the lack of scores from open play, it appears there might be a shortage of real natural scoring forwards in the team.the two wins so far in the group were against the weakest teams and i think after don/ash game we will learn more, time will tell but dont hold your breath.

rath togh, to be fair, I do think the minor team's focus last year was on winning the championship rather than the league for the third time running. No doubt they did put some value on the league those years, but last year (and possibly this year) it was clear that their priority was to win the championship.

And seanieboy, how can you say it was "lucky" that those three players came back from injury? Surely it was fiercely unlucky that those three important players were injured in the first place.

I hate reading threads on the minor competitions as undoubtedly players/friends of the players find their way into the conversations.

I was agreeing with what rath_togh said maybe lucky was the wrong choice of word.. Injuries at anytime are unfortunate but Rataoth should take both league as well as championship seriously

Division 3 is a interesting division, Curraha/St Vincents are the form team in at the minute with 3 wins out of 3. And they are playing some out standing football even without there few meath minors and they have an outstanding squad. And I can tell you this all of there starting 15 would walk onto any division 1 minor team and should have more than 2 meath minors. Anyway when is the next round of the minor league and when are the semi-finals and finals penciled in for.
