Managers moving on

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Anyone know anything about Ciaran O'hare from St. Patricks moving to manage a Dublin club? Is there any truth to him leaving St. Patricks ?

I thought that he was staying for another year. He is a fantastic manager for St Patricks to have and would do a job for any club in Meath and Dublin. What Dublin club is he linked with.

tb2002ster has Sean Kelly left his position in Mattock, how did they get on in the chapionship this year? Kelly has a good reputation so I was expecting him to get on well in Mattock considering they had won the championship in 09,10.

Mattock reached the semies but the Pats beat them after a replay. Mattock won the Divison 1 title (Cardinal O Donnell Cup) for the very first time in their history.

JamesH, Where did you happen to come across that bit of news. Cant see it happening as what real value would he bring to Rathkenny GFC and Tony Kearney. If im not wrong was he not a Rathkenny club man prior to his deflection to the Tones. So in all honesty would he be welcomed back. Doubt it! Also cant see what addition he would be. He certainly doesnt appear to be that active on the line any time I saw him this year.

Your some man for repeating yourself!!!
If you want to know what addition he would be perhaps you should ask TK, or maybe your expert opinion might doubt him also???
Yes he did play with Rathkenny many years ago before he moved into the Tones parish I believe. Please explain the term "deflection" in the context you are using it above also, thanks
I'm not revealing my source of info to you and i'm certainly not going to reveal it on an open forum such as this!!
On your final statement regarding him not being "active on the line" what would you expect of him exactly?? What do you believe his activity should be as a selector apart from selecting the team of course???
My source has told me that he is a giant in the dressing room, commands the height of respect and no man dares to undermine his authority.
Best of luck to him, TK and Rathkenny next year

JamesH and minor star, two great lads chatting away about this man and you don't even know what club he is! Played with Castletown for years and managed several underage teams also, in 1997 he also took Castletowns SECOND team to a Junior B championship final only to narrowly lose out to a Curragha team that went onto win a junior A championship.

JamesH, I sincerely apologise for upsetting you so much by my post. Didnt mean to touch a nerve. You seem very close to your source. I dont for a second believe that this appointment will happen.

I do wish TK and Rathkenny all the best for the new season ahead, and I hold TK in the highest esteem. He has proven what a legend of the game he is, and if you care to look at previous posts I have previously wished them both well and I think he might just be the missing link Rathkenny need to lift a Keegan Cup.
