Meath vs Tyrone

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Possibly the most important league match for meath in years, win
and it sets us up great for a tilt at leinster again with renewed confidence
Lose and the air of negativity in the county will be crushing.
I am putting my neck out for meath to do enough on sunday
No matter what you may think of the ability of individual players
you still have to believe the pride in the jersey will shine through
Sometimes ordinary people do extraordinary things
Up the royal!

I'm with ya there atta.
I think that there's one big performance left in them before the curtain comes down on this campaign..

Tyrone are started to get into their stride, and that's exactly the sort of challenge that's needed. A big name with a lot at stake for both.

Lets hope you are right however I think we could all end up saying what we said before the Derry match- we can do this, it can change our season etc etc etc. however I just don't think at the moment we are good enough to win against a team like Tyrone.

At work today, some of us looked at 1 to 15 for Meath and Tyrone and only Seamus Kenny (debated selection due to the strenght of Tyrone's half backs), Graham Reilly and Joe Sheridan made the team. I'm all for blind optimism but they have the better players at present.

As for Leinster.......let's take each game as it comes.

Meath to go down fighting (literally). This will be a dirty game as Meath resort to what they know best. Banty's men to take another hiding from Tyrone.

Looks like Louth have resorted to what they are good at too lately. 3 defeats on the bounce and players coming to blows in their own dressing room.....

Worry about your own sorry excuse for a team before worrying about the Leinster champions balls.

I have to laugh at you Balls, first off all I don't think this team are capable of that(a bit of hard hitting wouldn't go a miss) and lastly watch while Louth crumble on the easier side of the draw in leinster, trust me on that..

As for the "REAL" thread,it's very tough to see how we will win this game, hopefully Reilly(K) is back, then we can move Mento to 6,and I would like to see McGuinness at 11 with his passing ability, how and ever I will be there with my full support,I won't have the knives out for Banty either..

its all well and gud givin out and sayin they shud get rid of such and such a player, or banty shud be gotten rid of. at the end of the day, hes here to stay until at least the end of this years championship so quit givin out and give them ur full support! if ya have nothing positive to say, dont say it all!

BallsMcQ you need to get a life.
You remind me of a school playground where the little boy says he hates the little girl but really fancies her.
I think his is the case with meath, you should worry about the state of louth football & stop posting stupid messages about the state of meath football
Happy out donkey_chops

ziggy forget about mento at number 6,mcguigan,oneill,penrose or cavanagh would destroy him on one leg and one arm
tied behind their back.

Eoin Harrington is a brilliant centre back as is Cormac McGuinness.

Even though it will be incredibly tough I'd say we can beat Tyrone without a doubt, all I'm worried about is what way other results will go, but fingers crossed we can do the business. Lets get behind the lads one last time before the championship and put a bit of much needed pride back in the jersey, C'MON THE ROYALS!!

Harrington is not an Inter county centre back,as for McGuinness, yeah I agree(even though he hasn't been playing well),but we need a number 11 who can pass a ball, would love o see Cormac there..
A bit harsh on Mento lads,he's just 21,very strong, mobile and he will improve no doubt,I see him as a future midfielder though..

Setantameath-I think you are a bit harsh on young Menton. To say he is just an average club footballer is unfair. He played well for the u 21s against Dublin and Longford and certainly in Newbridge against Kildare he was our best defender.I heard he was used more in the fullback line or just in front of the full back line in Derry which would not be his position. He looks better driving forward from centre back and deserves a run in that position in my opinion.

Hate to be so negative, but i recall people predicting that meath were going to have a 'big performance', that they would win, and that it would be the turning point in the campaign before the donegal game, then before the kildare game, then before the derry one. It didnt happen, just seems hope springs eternal rather than genuine predictions

@catlebravo : meath will have a 'big performance', they will win, and it will be the turning point in the campaign.
