Waterlogged pitch, someone said it's on tomorrow instead, surely the pitch wouldn't have time to dry out much between now and then?

Couldn't see how it would be much different by tomorrow as there's more rain forecast but rte claims that there's a pitch inspection ahead of a proposed 2.30 throw in tomorrow.
Hopefully goes ahead.

Laois v Meath swiched to Sunday
05 February 2011

Tonight's Allianz FL Division 2 game between Laois and Meath has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch in Portlaoise.

An inspection earlier today deemed O'Moore Park unplayable.

The game has provisionally been changed to tomorrow afternoon at 2.30pm in th esame venue. There will be a pitch inspection tomorrow morning after which a decision will be made.

Any further word on this? Is it goin to go ahead?
A lot of rain again last night so the groundsmen will have had to pull out all the stops.
Hopefully they don't leave it too late either way to make a decision.

Couldn't make it today but listening intently, 1-7 to 0-7 down at half time although performance sounds decent enough on the wireless

Well done to Laois on the victory.
Wasn't in Portlaoise so I'll wait for a match report from someone who was.
Sounded like we missed a lot of chances though.
This next game at home against Sligo is a must win or we could be in trouble.

Was listening to the match on lmfm, sounded like an entertaining game which could have gone either way, though meath would have took control after crawfords goal but laoise upped the ante, the one worrying thing is meath only tried out one new player (paddy gilsenan), the team is a mixed bag of recylcled players many of whom have continulty failed on the big day and are being given too many chances, so hopefully for the next game a few new players might get a chance cause we are going nowhere with certain players.

We need more mobility in the middle of the field.
It's not necessary to play two monsters there the whole time.
Especially when one of those monsters can't catch the ball anyway.

Good honest performance from both sides and overall,to be fair to Laois, they just deserved it.Hard to make a judgement on players when the ground is so heavy and conditions difficult. Not a day for free flowing football and though a win would have been great,it will be work in progress throughout the league. The Summer is a totally different ball game.

I am just getting so frustrated seing the same players play for meath and consistently fail. We had the same backs(except O'Connor and Harrington) that got absolutely destroyed by Kildare last summer. Bryan Menton should have been centre half back, and the 2 best corner backs in Meath by a country mile Davy Dalton and Cormac McGill should have started today. I hope banty has learned his lesson today about the defenders and wing forwards. Alan Nestor should start the next day also.

I'd agree that we need to start introducing the new faces now.
Time for Banty to take the bull by the horns.
Too much of our play seems to end up with Joe taking the shot.
I watched Cork v Kerry today and there was numerous instances where a ball would be won about 30 yards from goal and off-loaded to a runner to knock over the bar.
We need to be much snappier and bring other forwards and even wing-backs into the game.
The forwards we have should be scoring a minimum of 14/15 points a game.
Monaghan put up a score of 0-19 today against Galway as a result of their forwards playing as a unit.
It doesn't matter who gets the scores, and certain players need to realise that.
